The Kilnhurst Clan : Collies & Miniature American Shepherds News from the Kilnhursts One or two Chihuahuas may have sneaked in along the way, too. Our Affix was granted by the Kennel Club in 1999.

Founded by fate in 1982 when we rescued a little crossbreed girl who turned out to be in pup, the Kilnhurst Clan has since evolved into a multi-generation family of Border Collies (Working Sheepdogs) and Miniature American Shepherd Dogs (previously known as 'Mini Aussies'.) First and foremost our dogs are beloved pets and constant companions. Most of the older ones have competed successfully in ag

ility, the youngsters enjoy Scentwork and Mantrailing and the veterans are retired to the sofa. Our versatile pups have gone on to make us proud in many venues including agility, obedience, flyball, KCGC, rally, tracking, herding and therapy work. We are based near Edinburgh (UK). That's our 2025 breeding complete, we value quality over quantity.

We are currently accepting enquiries for our planned 2026 litter, which will most likely (although not guaranteed) be a repeat of this one.

Congratulations to Kayci [Kilnhurst Killer Queen] on passing her UK ScentSport Rural Level 4 recently. Kayci's nose is in fine form and her enthusiasm for Mantrailing is lovely to see. She's almost (almost!) as noisy about it as mum Henna.
