Heartland Dog Grooming Welcome to HDG! We believe in ethical and open grooming customized to you and your pups! Does your dog have anxiety? That is what private grooming is about!

Do they require a bit more individual attention? Maybe they just don't handle the noise and stress of a busy shop well? Maybe they are a senior dog that requires a soft touch and patience? We provide grooming for nervous, elderly dogs and every dog in between! We know how special your dog is and we want to love them just and much and have them looking their best!

I have a very bittersweet announcement to make.

Heartland Dog Grooming will be relocating to Wichita Kansas and ending services for Edmond effective on October 1.

I will miss Edmond and all of you so much but I am also quite excited to be close to my family again and to see what God has in store for this new chapter.

If you need an appointment before I wrap up, please dont hesitate to reach out. If anyone needs their appointment or groom notes, I also have all of those.

I am refering everyone in edmond to Fur Lab Edmond off of 15th and Bryant. If you need a recommendation in a different area please let me know!

Anyone who prepaid appointments I will be refunding those by the end of this month as well!

Thank you all for taking such great care of me and letting me spoil your fur babies. God bless you all!

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

As an owner of a couple anxious dogs myself, I will share this every year.

Quick PSA: During the Fourth of July holiday, and the days leading it up to it when folks start celebrating with noisy fireworks, scores of pets run away from the sights and sounds, making the day after Independence Day the busiest of the year for animal hospitals and shelters. Please do your due diligence. And if you feel as though your pet may need medication to help them relax during firework season, now is the time to speak with your veterinarian!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are all doing well.

Some of you may know, some of you may not but as this year gets off to a busy start I wanted to take a moment to fill yall in on my life lately.

I have not one but two other jobs. I took on these in an effort to keep my grooming prices as affordable as I could for my clients! As life has gotten more expensive as a single gal, I needed to take on some extra work to make ends meet.

Dont worry I have no plans to hang up my shears or clippers anytime soon. Grooming is something I love to do and I will keep doing it as long as I am physically able to do so. I adore each and every one of my clients and Ill keep working just as hard for you as I always have.

But I said all of this to say, with my other jobs, my schedule requires a bit more flexibility lately. So i just wanted to take a moment to say thank you in advance for my wonderful clients who provide that grace and kindness to me as I try to navigate life with all this!

The best is yet to come and there is mountains more for me to do! Thank you all!

Starting this year off the right way! Here is everything you need to know about this year.

My schedule is pretty dang full at this point. Good help is hard to come by. With that being said, please keep in mind that I cannot always reschedule for the same week. Sometimes my next availability wont be for several weeks. If I have not sent you an appointment schedule please let me know so I can send that over! I think Ive gotten everyone on one so if I missed you, text me! I’ve also got everyone in the system for reminder texts! Let me know if you aren’t receiving those

Along with that, if you need to cancel for whatever reason, I need to know at minimum 24 hours in advance. This helps so much with my daily planning. If you dont let me know and do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged a no show fee.

🔔No Show Fees- I had a extremely large amount of no shows last year. Not only does this mess with the schedule, it also direct effects my bottom line, as someone else could have paid for it.
So effective immediately I will be charging no show fees. 50% of the groom cost will be owed for that slot. I understand things happen that cannot be helped but communication is key!

🔔48 Hour Policy- I have this policy in place on ALL of my services, if there is anything you want changed, or something I missed, please let me know if 48 hours so I can fix it. This is at no extra charge, because I want you to be fully satisfied with my services.

You may not know but I do have another job. I love it just as much as my grooming but occasionally it does take me away from home. I will always do my best to keep everyones appointments but sometimes I will need to adjust for those days. I will give you plenty of notice for those days.

🔔Prices- I am having to raise prices. I have had conversations with most of you about this. Unfortunately that is the reality we are living in at the moment. If there are issues, please discuss it with me and we can work something out!

🔔Nail trims- I no longer do solo nail trims however for my clients on a schedule, I always offer free nail trims in between appointments! So feel free to take advantage of that!

🔔Dog Boarding- I do not board for the public anymore but for my groom clients I always do. It helps keep our relationship strong and positive! Most dogs get way more comfortable after a weekend with me.

🔸Commission based pay. Our full grooms start at $60 and go up from there.

🔹Great consistent clientele with room to grow. Dogs are all well behaved and easy to work with.

🔸Ideal candidate should be able to groom 6-8 dogs a day.

🔹Must have a minimum of a year experience.

🔸Unlimited vacation days-PTO after one year

🔹Flexible hours and schedule-Full time or part time

🔸Must be able to work independently without supervision. Self starter

My Story

For as long as I can remember I have loved dogs. Growing up, my favorite movies included Homeward Bound, Lassie, and 101 Dalmatians. I had 101 Dalmatians toys and stuffed animals. They lined my room, seriously, ask my mom. I was nothing short of obsessed.

Fast forward to 2015. I was blessed with a rescue dog going into my sophomore year of college. Indy is a beautiful labradoodle who loves napping and ear rubs. Pretty quickly I realized she needed a lot more grooming than I knew how to do. I also needed to make money to pay for classes. So after some talks with my family, I enrolled in the American School of Dog Grooming and that is where this amazing adventure began.

These last two years I have been blessed to work with some incredible groomers that I have learned so much from. I am eternally grateful for what they have taught me and I will always cherish those memories with them.

Yet life waits for no one and I had the opportunity to open my own shop. God opened the door and said let’s go and somehow everything fell into place faster than I ever imagined. It has been a complete new adventure and I am over the moon! I have been so blessed with the overwhelming support from everyone! Thank you all!
