'R Festival' Rescue #3 of 35

What could be more fitting than Sanatana Dasa finding refuge in a place of devotion?

This innocent young bull was rescued from the infamous Pollachi cattle market, a place where countless Gau Vansha are ruthlessly traded, many destined for an unthinkable fate. Discovered around the dreaded B-festival, it is heartbreaking to think that he was likely meant to be another helpless victim of the insatiable demand for beef that peaks during this time. A cruel fate seemed inevitable.

But who can take a life when Sri Krishna himself intervenes?

By divine will, a compassionate devotee, Sreeram Ananthashayanam, stepped forward. Refusing to let this precious soul be lost to cruelty, he purchased Sanatana Dasa and sent him to us, ensuring he would be protected for life.

Now safe in our Gausadan, this tender, one-month-old bull is embracing his newfound security with nothing but love and trust in his heart. He is learning what it means to be cared for, to be cherished—not condemned.

Welcoming him with open arms, Vara Mohini has lovingly adopted him, giving him the sacred name Sanatana Dasa—an eternal reminder of divine grace.

Every rescue is more than just saving a life—it is a stand against cruelty, an act of devotion, and a testament to the boundless compassion that still exists in this world.

May Sanatana Dasa live a long, blessed life, forever protected under the Lord’s loving gaze. 🙏✨

Rescue #2 of 35 of R festival rescue – A Story of Divine Intervention

Meet our sweet and gentle Sanatkumara Dasa.

He was discovered in the notorious Kozhalmannam cattle market—a place where innocent Gau Vamsha are tragically traded, their futures often sealed by cruelty. This pure soul had unwittingly wandered into a den of heartlessness, where his fate appeared all but written.

We may never understand the greed that compelled his previous owner to part with him. Found during the grim R***** Festival—when the insatiable demand for beef reaches a fever pitch—it is likely that he was destined to become yet another victim of ruthless practices.

But when divine will is at work, destiny can change. As if guided by the hand of a higher protector, Ravikumar stepped forward with unwavering compassion. With a heart full of mercy, he rescued Sanatkumara Dasa from the brink of despair and gave him the promise of a new beginning.

Now safe in our Gausadan, Sanatkumara Dasa is on a journey of healing and rediscovery. At around 7 years of age, he is gradually embracing his new life—learning the gentle ways of sanctuary living and forming bonds with both his fellow cattle and caring humans.

His story of hope finds a beautiful continuation as he is lovingly adopted by Vara Mohini. Every rescue is a victory against cruelty, and every saved life shines as a testament to compassion and divine grace.

May he live long, loved, and protected.

Shankara was born on a farm near the Coimbatore border, owned by a westernized farmer who had abandoned his ancestors' dharma for greed. Known for sending calves to slaughter, he tore Shankara from his mother at birth, condemning him to a cruel fate.

But destiny intervened—Rajaram Ji, a humble devotee of the Lord, stepped in with compassion. He purchased Shankara and entrusted him to us, where we welcomed him with open arms into our Gausadan.
