אני לא ממש מבינה מה זה, אבל אבא נראה קצת עצוב ומודאג.

Ten years ago today I adopted my Dad.

I remember that it was a cold and wet Friday. The volunteers had taken all of us for walks, and it was time for them to leave.

Suddenly, my Dad came and took me out of my run. He put me in the car with the other volunteers and we drove off. The volunteers got out of the car one by one, until only my Dad and I were Left in the car. Then the car stopped, and my Dad told me we were home.
We got home, and I looked around.

I had my own water and food bowls, just for me. I even had my own bed. What a change. No more sharing.

היום לפני עשר שנים אימצתי את אבא שלי

אני זוכרת שזה היה יום שישי קר ורטוב. המתנדבים הוציאו את כולנו לטיולים והגיע הזמן שהם ילכו הביתה.

פתאום, אבא שלי בא והוציא אותי מהחצר שלי. הוא שם אותי ברכב עם כל המתנדבים ו התחלנו לנסוע. המתנדבים ירדו מהאוטו אחד אחד, עד שרק אבא שלי ואני נשארנו. האוטו עצר ואבא אמר לי שהגענו הביתה

הגענו הביתה והסתכלתי מסביב. היו לי קערות למים ואוכל רק שלי. אפילו הייתה לי מיטה. איזה הבדל. לא צריך לשתף אחרים.

היום הלכתי לעשות אמבטיה אצל שלומית הכלבנית.
קודם אבא ואני נסענו הרבה זמן באוטו ואז הגענו לבית של שלומית.
היא עשתה לי אמבטיה והברישה אותי.
לא כל כך נהניתי, אבל בסוף קיבלתי חטיפים אז היה בסדר.
קיבלתי גם בנדנה יפה וחטיפים לקחת הביתה.

אבא סיפר לי שדוגטור מיכל התקשרה ואמרה שהדבר המגעיל היה לי על הגב היה סוג של גידול שפיר והטיפול היה להוציא אותו.
אני מרגישה ממש טוב וממש שמחה שלא צריך לחזור לרופא, אפילו שיש להם חטיפים נהדרים.

My Dad told me that Dogtor Michal called and said that the ugly thing I had on my back was some kind of benign tumor, and the treatment was taking it off.
I'm feeling great and I'm very happy I don't have to go back to the doctor, even though they have great treats.

היום בבוקר אבא לא הלך לעבודה. מוזר.
אחרי כמה זמן הוא קרא לי ונסענו באוטו.
הגענו למרפאה של דוגטור מיכל ואז התחילו לעשות לי כל מני דברים:
לקחו לי את הדם
לקחו לי חלק מהשיער בגב
אחרי זה הלכתי לישון
כשהתעוררתי כאב לי קצת בגב ואז אבא בא ונסענו הביתה.

This morning my Dad didn’t go to work. Strange.
After a little while he called me, and we went for a ride in the car.
We went to Dogter Michal’s clinic and they started doing all kinds of things to me:
They took my blood
They took some of the hair off my back.
After that, I went to sleep.
When I woke up, my back hurt a little and then Dad came and we went home

אבא סיפר לי שהיום אני בת 13.
אני לא יודעת מה זה בדיוק אומר, אבל סיפרו לי שאצל בני אדם זה ממש חשוב.

My Dad told me that today is my 13th Birthday.
I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I've been told that it's very important for people.

אבא שלי חזר סוף סוף אחרי הרבה זמן.
מאוד שמחתי לראות אותו ואפילו ניסיתי לקפוץ עליו, אבל הרגליים האחוריות שלי קצת חלשות אז לא הצלחתי.
הצלחתי לתת לו המון נשיקות.
כשנכנסנו לאוטו, אבא אמר שצריך לעשות לו אמבטיה אז נסענו למקום שעושים אמבטיה לאוטואים.
זה היה קצת מפחיד, אבל אבא חיבק אותי ולא פחדתי כל כך.
אחר כך נסענו הביתה ולקחתי את אבא לעשות טיול קטן כדי לבדוק ששום דבר לא השתנה.
עכשיו אני סוף סוף בבית.

My Dad came back after a very long time.
I was very happy to see him and even tried to jump up on him, but my back legs are a little weak, so I couldn't do it.
I managed to give him lots of kisses.
When we got into the car, my Dad said it needed a bath, so we went to a place where they give baths to cars.
It was a little scary, but Dad hugged me and I wasn't so scared.
We then went home and I took my Dad on a short walk to make sure that nothing had changed.
I am finally home.
