Bella+Duke

Bella+Duke Serving the very best raw food to cats and dogs across the nation. We go all in, so you get more out of life with your pet. Welcome to our Bella+Duke Pack.

Bella+Duke was inspired by and for 4 dogs called Morpheus, Trinity, Barney and Gus. Today we're committed to all dogs, and cats in their memory. Pets are always right by us through thick and thin. It's time we do and are Right by them. After the profound loss of beloved family pets to cancer, our founders, Mark & Tony, came together to investigate how it could have happened to pets so young. Thei

r insatiable curiosity led them to the discovery that that the high-quality but processed food they had been given in love and eaten their whole lives may have actually caused their illness. They were shocked by how nutritionally poor pet food manufacturing standards are as well as how the manufacturing process strips our pet's daily diets of what they need to lead their healthiest, happiest and longest lives. They were driven to champion change and dug into natural dog diets and started making the best raw pet food available anywhere. Partnering with nutritionists and vets, Bella & Duke offers healthy raw pet food straight to your door. It's tailored to your pet's wellness needs at a frequency and volume that suits you. We pride ourselves on carefully sourcing the best ingredients from British & Irish farms. Our food is free from grains, fillers and anything artificial. Backed by cutting-edge science, we only add an ingredient if it enhances the nutritional value of your pet’s meal. Every ingredient we add to our raw dog food and raw cat food provides a real benefit to your pet’s health. We can't wait to meet you and to hear your stories, news and updates on your pups. We're also here for you; for advice, support and sharing the love of pets, as well as your feedback.

Is it too hot to walk your dog? ☀️
Hot weather can be risky for our best friends. When temperatures rise, so does the chance of heat stroke.

We’ve made it easy to spot the danger zones with this simple guide.

🐾 Walk during cooler times like early morning or evening
🐾 Keep exercise gentle in warmer temperatures
🐾 Know when to skip the walk altogether

Help another pet parent out and make sure to share this guide 🤳🌡️

Leaving your dog in the car, even for a short time, can be life-threatening.

When it’s just 23°C outside, the temperature inside a parked car can climb to over 40°C in as little as 10 minutes. Dogs are more sensitive to heat than humans. They cannot regulate their body temperature as effectively, making them especially vulnerable to heatstroke.

Cracking the window open does not keep the car cool. The risk is simply too high.

If you are heading somewhere dogs cannot go, the safest choice is to leave them at home where they are cool and comfortable.

Pet Clinic at DogFest Blenheim Palace 12 to 13 July is cancelled

Due to the consistently high temperatures forecast by the Met Office, DogFest has made the difficult but responsible decision to postpone the Blenheim Palace event. We fully support this decision. The wellbeing of our pets always comes first, and keeping our dogs safe and comfortable is what matters most.

The event will now take place on 4 and 5 October 2025. We're already looking forward to a cooler autumn weekend filled with wagging tails and happy faces.
All tickets will be automatically transferred to the new dates. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates from the DogFest team.

Thank you for your understanding. We’ll see you and your dogs in October 💛

What Should My Pet’s Poo Look Like? 💩

When it comes to your dog’s health, what comes out the back end says a lot about what’s going on inside. One of the easiest ways to monitor your dog’s wellbeing is by checking their poo... yes, we said it! A healthy poo should be firm, well-shaped, and easy to pick up, not a mushy mystery or a gravy disaster.

💚 That’s where raw feeding comes in. Dogs fed a balanced, species-appropriate raw diet often produce smaller, firmer, less smelly poos that are easier on their digestive system (and your nose!). That’s because raw food is more digestible, meaning your dog absorbs more nutrients and leaves behind less waste.

❌ Runny or mushy poos? These could be signs of a poor-quality diet, food intolerance, or gut imbalance which often improve dramatically when switching to raw.

✅ The goal? A compact, torpedo-shaped poo that naturally expresses the a**l glands as it exits (yep, that’s a thing). It's not just satisfying to scoop, it's a sign your dog is thriving.

Is it too hot to walk your dog? 🌡️

What feels like a lovely day to us can be dangerous for our dogs. Even at 20°C, the risk of heatstroke starts to climb, and it can happen fast.

• 20°C to 23°C: Very high risk of heatstroke
• 24°C to 27°C: Too hot for walkies. Best to stay indoors
• 28°C and above: Extremely dangerous. Do not walk your dog

Dogs can’t cool down the way we do. They rely on panting to regulate their temperature, but once the air warms up, it’s no longer effective. Add in hot pavements, minimal shade and thick fur, and it’s easy to see why heatstroke can set in so quickly.

How to keep your dog safe in the heat:
• Avoid walks during the day. Keep them indoors where it’s cool
• Use enrichment and indoor games to keep them mentally stimulated
• Only head out early morning or late evening if it’s under 19°C
• Make sure they always have access to fresh water and shady spots to rest

By understanding how heat affects your pet, you can make simple choices that protect them during these hotter months ☀️

It’s National Best Friends Day 💛

So of course, we’re celebrating the ones with wagging tails, twitchy whiskers, and a habit of stealing our spot on the sofa 🐾

Whether they bark, meow, purr, or snore louder than we do, our pets are more than companions. They’re our daily joy, our unofficial therapists, and the reason our camera rolls are 99% them.

They don’t care what job title we have, how many emails we’ve answered, or what we look like on a Monday morning. As long as the food bowl’s full - we’re their whole world.

Here’s to our best friends. The four-legged kind. ❤️

🌱 What really happens when your pet switches to raw?

Making the move to species-appropriate nutrition is one of the best things you can do for your dog’s health, but what can you expect in those first few weeks?

🦠 Week 1–2: Gut feeling
The good bacteria in your dog’s digestive system starts to rebalance. This is the foundation of so much more, think firmer poos, less wind, and fewer tummy troubles. You might also notice more consistent toilet habits and less scooting.

✨ Week 3–4: Skin and coat transformation
Now we’re seeing the outer glow. Thanks to balanced fats and natural omega oils, your dog’s coat begins to look shinier and feel softer. Itchiness may start to ease too, especially if it was linked to previous food sensitivities.

⚡ Week 7–8: Balanced energy
Once their body has adjusted, those random bursts of chaos start to even out. What’s left? A content, thriving dog with the perfect amount of energy for walkies, playtime and the occasional zoomie through your freshly cleaned living room.

We met Pesto in the park - a pup with a reputation for being fussy. But one sniff of our Venison Bites, and he was hooked 🦌🦴
Made with 100% British venison and gently air-dried to lock in flavour, they’re high in protein and low in fuss - even picky dogs love them!

Our Story

Why B&D? We lost our dogs to cancer. After researching potential cures online, we discovered that the processed food our dogs had eaten their whole lives may have actually caused their illness. We decided something had to be done to educate other dog owners and protect their pets before it was too late. So we rolled up our sleeves, dug into natural dog diets and started making the best raw dog food available anywhere in the country. We promise to stay at the cutting edge of nutrition and continue developing our food so it is as good as it possibly can be. We will never add something to our meals because it might be a good idea and guarantee that every single ingredient we add to our food provides a real benefit to your dog’s health. Part of this improvement process involves listening to you, our customers. We want you to join our Bella & Duke Pack and tell us all about where we’re doing well and where we need to improve. Together we can create a new food that will keep your four-legged friend healthy and ensure you can stay together for as long as possible!
