Let’s talk about dog poo 💩
(Yeah, we said it. You’re already in too deep now to turn back.)

If you’ve ever looked at your dog’s post-walk deposit and thought, “What even is that?!” - you’re not alone. But here’s the thing... if you’re feeding kibble, you might be seeing the result of low digestibility, fillers, and overly processed ingredients.

Why does raw food = better dog poo?
Time to get nerdy:

Dogs are carnivores.
Their bodies are made to digest raw meat, bones, and natural ingredients – not cornmeal or meat-flavoured cereal puffs. Raw food gives their digestive system what it actually wants, not what the pet food industry invented.

Less processing = less p**p
When dogs eat kibble, a lot of it goes in and... well, comes right back out. That’s because their bodies can’t use most of it. With raw food, there’s better nutrient absorption and less waste, meaning what comes out the other end is compact, firm, and (dare we say it?) tidy.

Leaving your dog in the car, even for a short time, can be life-threatening.

When it’s just 23°C outside, the temperature inside a parked car can climb to over 40°C in as little as 10 minutes. Dogs are more sensitive to heat than humans. They cannot regulate their body temperature as effectively, making them especially vulnerable to heatstroke.

Cracking the window open does not keep the car cool. The risk is simply too high.

If you are heading somewhere dogs cannot go, the safest choice is to leave them at home where they are cool and comfortable.

Pet Clinic at DogFest Blenheim Palace 12 to 13 July is cancelled

Due to the consistently high temperatures forecast by the Met Office, DogFest has made the difficult but responsible decision to postpone the Blenheim Palace event. We fully support this decision. The wellbeing of our pets always comes first, and keeping our dogs safe and comfortable is what matters most.

The event will now take place on 4 and 5 October 2025. We're already looking forward to a cooler autumn weekend filled with wagging tails and happy faces.
All tickets will be automatically transferred to the new dates. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates from the DogFest team.

Why B&D? We lost our dogs to cancer. After researching potential cures online, we discovered that the processed food our dogs had eaten their whole lives may have actually caused their illness. We decided something had to be done to educate other dog owners and protect their pets before it was too late. So we rolled up our sleeves, dug into natural dog diets and started making the best raw dog food available anywhere in the country. We promise to stay at the cutting edge of nutrition and continue developing our food so it is as good as it possibly can be. We will never add something to our meals because it might be a good idea and guarantee that every single ingredient we add to our food provides a real benefit to your dog’s health. Part of this improvement process involves listening to you, our customers. We want you to join our Bella & Duke Pack and tell us all about where we’re doing well and where we need to improve.
