⭐️Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest Board & Train client at Unleashed Manners: Perry! ⭐️

This little lowrider may be small in stature, but he’s got a big heart and an even bigger goal: learning how to be brave! 🥹💪

Perry is a sweet 2.5-year-old Dachshund who has joined us for our Board & Train program to build confidence and work on all things basic manners! This handsome little guy can be pretty anxious and skittish, especially when things fall outside of his comfort zone, and he thrives on having a predictable routine. Unlike his more outgoing siblings, Snooch & Ripley, Perry prefers to take things at his own pace. 🐾💕 With Ryan, we’ll be working on helping him feel more confident in the world around him, building his comfort level in new situations, and polishing up those leash manners and everyday life skills. Because even the tiniest pups deserve to feel big and brave! 🐶💪

But don’t let that shy side fool you! This handsome little dude is determined to come out of his shell, and with those BIG brown eyes that could melt even the toughest heart, it’s hard not to fall head over heels for him! When he isn’t working hard with Ryan, you can usually find Perry playing with his siblings, Snooch & Ripley, or demanding mandatory snuggle time! Because though this little guy might need some extra time to warm up to the world, he certainly knows how to ask for love and affection from his favorite people!

We’re excited to help Perry build confidence, feel more comfortable navigating the world around him, strengthen his basic manners, and develop better leash skills. Our goal is to help this timid cutie learn that being brave doesn’t mean never feeling scared; it means learning that he can handle new experiences one little step at a time!

🚨 DID YOU KNOW DISTEMPER CAN CAUSE SEIZURES, INVOLUNTARY MUSCLE TWITCHING, AND PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE IN DOGS?

Canine distemper is much more than a respiratory illness. It’s a highly contagious viral disease that can attack multiple systems throughout a dog’s body.

Here’s what makes it so serious. ⬇️
🫁 THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM: Fever, coughing, nasal discharge, and difficulty breathing.
🤢 THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: Vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and weakness.
🧠 THE NERVOUS SYSTEM: Involuntary muscle twitching, stumbling, loss of coordination, seizures, and even paralysis.

Neurological signs may develop later in the disease, and some dogs who survive are left with permanent neurological complications.

There is no specific cure that eliminates the distemper virus. Treatment focuses on supportive care and managing complications, which can be intensive. Sadly, some dogs do not survive.

🐾 THIS IS WHY VACCINATION MATTERS: The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends distemper vaccination as a CORE VACCINE for ALL dogs.

This little lowrider has a whole lot of personality packed into her tiny frame, and let’s just say she’s pretty particular about who makes it onto her VIP list! 👑💁🏻‍♀️💅

Ripley is a sweet 1.5-year-old Dachshund who has joined us to work on all things basic manners and reactivity! Specifically, she is here to learn how to navigate her big feelings around other dogs & humans, and address her tendency to bark at the things that make her uncomfortable. This brown-eyed girl can be a little wary of new people, especially men, so we’ll be working on building her confidence, improving her responses to triggers, and teaching her that she doesn’t need to sound the alarm every time something catches her attention!

But don’t let those big feelings fool you! Once you get on Ripley’s good side, this sweet girly-pop will melt your heart with those big brown eyes and lovable demeanor. When she’s not training with Ryan, you can usually find Miss Ripley playing fetch with her siblings or fighting for her fair share of attention and cuddles. And whatever you do, DO NOT forget the snacks! This girl is VERY food motivated, and the way to her heart is definitely through her stomach!

We’re excited to help Ripley build confidence, learn to better navigate her big feelings, improve her leash manners, and discover that she doesn’t have to bark at everything to feel safe and comfortable. Our goal is to help this little lady become a more confident, calm, and well-mannered pup! 😉

We honestly don’t even know where to begin. ❤️🥹

When we moved into our new home, we knew having more land would come with more expenses. But to get our kennel license and, most importantly, keep every dog in our care safe, a new, state-of-the-art fence was a must. With the original cost coming in at over $12,000, it was a BIG investment.

That’s where you all came in.

Thanks to your generosity, you helped cover 1/4 of the total fence cost. That is something we will never take for granted.

Unleashed Manners started with a passion for dogs, and somewhere along the way, it became so much more than that. It became a community of people who believe in what we do, support our mission, and show up for us in ways we never could have imagined.

Every donation, no matter the amount, helped us get one step closer to making this happen. Every time we look at that fence, we’ll be reminded of the people who helped make it possible.

This little lowrider may be small, but don’t let that fool you — Snooch has a BIG personality and is known to be a bit of a diva when it comes to listening to commands. 😂👑

Snooch is a lovable 2-year-old Dachshund who has joined us to work on all things basic obedience! His training goals include improving his listening skills, learning better leash manners, and building confidence through socialization. 🐾

When he’s not busy training with Ryan, you can usually find this little guy playing fetch, snuggled up on the couch, or handing out kisses to anyone lucky enough to be nearby. 🥰❤️ He’s an absolute lover, and we have a feeling he’ll be winning plenty of hearts around here!

We’re excited to help Snooch build his confidence, sharpen up those listening skills, and show everyone that even a little Dachshund diva can become one well-mannered pup! 😉🐶

Pheasant Heads 🤝 Our Pet Skunk 🦨

Yep. You read that right.

These freeze-dried pheasant heads from H&N Homestead are one of our favorites to give the dogs… but Reek, our pet skunk, might actually be their BIGGEST fan. 😂

They’re made from whole pheasant — meat, bone + organs — and because the pheasants are plucked for human consumption, there are no feathers. Just a crunchy, all-natural treat with plenty of texture.

And honestly, watching Reek absolutely demolish one never gets old. 😂
