In the contest for worst duck group on Facebook..
It's Raising Backyard Ducks vs Raising Backyard ducks ( original)
Pamela Sebo Atkinson And Lisa Nieves admins vs MoRon Hobson.
Most likely a tie.
Their brand of care should never ever be followed.
Lisa dumps baby ducks ( reported by her own son) neglected a young duck locked up a full day without water..
She nearly died. I know I helped save her.
But she feels she is qualified to hand out advice on animal care ..seriously🤦

Now here is an example of what they allow and leave in that group.
A young duck picked up and hung by her neck..behind her head.
Multiple photos.
Asking why she has trouble walking 🤬

Obvious abuse!!!
Ducks esophagus and air sacs can be ruptured by this abusive behavior.
It's cruel and irresponsible!!!

People who want the ego charge of claiming administration of groups are responsible for the content!! Period!!

They should be smart enough to recognize abusive behavior and not allow it to remain posted..period!!!
But apparently that's asking too much from a " Raising backyard- group"
The sewers of Facebook!

Report !!! Facebook seriously needs to police these sick groups for abuse!!!

Quirky little fact..
Ducks and geese do not have a crop...
They have an expanding esophagus sort of a food staging area
It can run from the throat to the upper chest.
People often freak out at a bulge on the chest or lower throat and it's just food and water
Some ducks gorge and over eat and the bulge is very noticable..Pekins 🙅
When they are hatchlings it's very noticeable as they grow it's less.
Never put even slight pressure on that area just after eating especially hatchlings..they can aspirate from being picked up.
This is another reason children shouldn't carry ducklings

For the sake of easier understanding we do say " crop" ...
Let's face it no one wants to keep spelling expanded esophagus 🙄

Chick Days

Its baby chick and duckling season.
Feed stores are selling babies in big metal tubs with swinging red heat lights, piled with shavings.
*sigh
So many people go through and never see the danger signs. For stores like TSC these tiny fluffs are just that fluff..expendable.
The real money is in feed,supplies, lights dishes and return customers.
What they dont tell customers.
Proper feed chick starter never pellet.
Water deep enough for ducklings to clean nares but shallow enough they dont drown. Yes ducklings drown.
Room temp. water. Never cold water.
Ducklings are kept at 100* under a red light 30-40* water can send them into shock.
Ducklings need water all the time especially when eating. They can not produce saliva to digest they need a drink between bites.
If they run out of water they will gorge themselves.
Electrolytes should be given to shipped or transported chicks and ducklings.
1 time not for extended periods. The sodium is not good for them.
Red heat lamps are too hot for ducklings, especially indoors. A regular bulb is usually enough. Have a thermometer in the brooder. Have the light secure and so that babies can get away from it if they get too hot. Its very important !
Shavings can cause breathing and choking hazards for ducklings under 2 weeks. Shavings kicked into feed and water get consumed and can cause crop impaction and constipation.
Loose stools can cling to baby vents and
cause them to be very sick, check vents.
They are cute fun and fluffy but a lot of work.
Please buy them carefully and never turn them lose in parks,lakes or rivers.
They can not survive....

This is what I see...
33 Police officers injured by riot protesters.
33 humans defending a town/city.
Im outraged no other narrative is necessary
the media doesnt offer it up.
Why?

1 man welding a knife threatening citizens and police officers.
Im upset I need nothing more its a man with a knife.
At that point he can be purple I dont care!!
Man with a knife !!!
But the media feels the need to embellish.
Because he is a black man ? Why?
Nothing said on who he threatened a woman? A black man a hispanic man ??? No nothing why?
Does it matter...no because a victim is a victim.

Now think... If I say a baby was murdered
And your horrified, right.
At any point that we add skin tone does it make it better ? Worse?
NO just no..
Its a baby ....
We are horrified.

2,977 Americans were killed in 911.
This nation mourned...
We are angry frustrated and grieving.
They were Americans.
At no point did we need the media to break down skin tone.
They were red white and blue.
OUR PEOPLE !
American...

We need to demand the media STOP the racism.
A victim is a victim.
A suspect is a suspect.
If you need to ask what a skin tone is in a crime
you have a problem.
All we need are the facts in a case nothing more.
Just like not one skin tone has never been mentioned in 33 officers being injured.
But because of 1 suspects color it happened.

What if that headline read a suspect of unknown origin was brandishing a knife and an officer of unknown origin shot in self defense.
We can still feel and have an opinion.
End ...we move on.

This is what racism is its the narrative.
All we need to do is read human to human.

Or its a duck I dont care what color ...its a duck...

In April 2018 a moderator not an admin
Was added to RBYD.
As seen in the screenshot.
Members were at 21K not 10K.

When a person has 10's of thousands of followers numbers on post approval would reflect that with little things called " likes"

We need a roll your eyes and sigh emoji
