Its been 1 year since we launched Project Paradise.
Here is what we have achieved
- Over 200 nymphs have gone to new homes for free!
- Over 1.5k Ova has been dispersed around for free!
- Various food plant research has been happening
- We have educated hundreds of people with care information
What issues have arose:
-Due to living circumstances, the PP gardens are reduced dramatically.
-We have still not been offered the allotment either
-Ive had to downsize my amount of species to keep in half
What we expect in the next year
- More young people taking on our free stick insects and eggs
- More care info to be produced
- Studying the uses of phasmid frass in the world of isopod keeping.
- Building up our network further to increase our team
Plus so much more behind the scenes!
Thankyou to everyone who helped this happen!
Followup to Project Paradise post
Looking for helpers for Project Paradise. Due to major recent news, i can no longer push this project alone.
What we have done so far - dispersed several colonies and roughly 1k ova to people around the UK!
Although this is a great start, unfortunately I will have to drastically decrease the numbers of phasmids i keep here in the realm.
(none of my current stock will be available though, only some Ova)
What i will need from you
- Willingness to learn and distribute eggs/nymphs to others around the UK.
- Keep your phasmids happy and healthy
-Not to simply get bored of them
-Access to the food plants you need yourself.
So what will i be doing?
Still what I have always done, but with less species.
The actions I feel best for my new circumstance is to raise only a few species at a time, pass on their off spring till adults die of old age, then raise a new species.
This way i can still do what i love but in smaller doses.
With help from others we can do this in massive numbers!
Lets grow this hobby together!
That's a fair size moult!
