This month, we are remembering our beloved Boris (Mr. B) who passed on earlier this year. Mr. B was taken care of by Rike and Matthew Pruesse, who loved him deeply and frequented the BDP every day.

Boris was a Whippet and his birthday was September 13, 2010. He lived in South Dennis, and his favorite thing to do at the BDP was walking glued to Rike and watching his “sister” bestie Elsa playing. His best friends at the park were Georgie, Kenzo, Bruna, Marlow, and Finn the Whippet.

We are so grateful to Rike and Matt for bringing Mr. B into the BDP community. He is certainly missed, but we are happy to have shared all of the time with him that we did. Thank you to Rike and Matt for your continued support of the BDP!

Reminder! We will be having an Educational Workshop TOMORROW from 10:30am-12:30pm! The workshop will be led by Certified Professional Trainer and BDP Board Member Rick Alto and will go over dog park safety and Canine behavior. This event is free and will take place in the small dog park! We can't wait to see you there!

Exciting news! FBDP President Carmen Scherzo will be selling FBDP merch, including our new stickers, at the park tomorrow on Mother's Day from 10am-12pm! See you there!

Join us for an Educational Workshop on Saturday, May 17th, from 10:30am-12:30pm! The workshop will be led by Certified Professional Trainer and BDP Board Member Rick Alto and will go over dog park safety and Canine behavior. Congratulations to Dr. Carmen Scherzo, Friends of Brewster Dog Park Board President, on receiving the Brewster Public Service Award for Community Leadership for his work to establish and maintain Brewster Dog Park! Carmen has been instrumental in the success of the dog park to make sure that it continues to grow and better serve Brewster residents.

A retired veterinarian, Dr. Scherzo was the Board of Health liaison to the Dog Park Development Committee and helped guide the long process to build the park. He was co-founder and now he serves as President of the Friends of Brewster Dog Park, a volunteer group that works to keep the park a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs and their people.

All of us at the Brewster Dog Park are grateful to have Carmen as our Board President. Thank you, Carmen, for all of the work you do for the Brewster community and our furry friends!

Last call for parade walkers! The FBDP are seeking walkers with friendly dogs to walk 1.3 miles with their four-legged companions on leash during the Brewster in Bloom Parade on Sunday, May 4th. Dogs need to be tolerant of other dogs, people and loud noises like horns and sirens. We also need 2 people without dogs to carry our banner and 2 people to hand out dog goody bags to parade attendees!

If you are interested please contact us for assembly details at [email protected]. Please include your name, your dogs name, and your phone number. Step off time is 1:00 PM. As a thank you, parade walkers will be given a FREE FBDP hat to be worn while walking! We hope you will join us in the fun!
