KITTENS of the WEEK: NEKKO & KURO

Meet Nekko and his brother Kuro, a loving, bonded pair of kittens that are seeking a forever home, together.

These two look-alikes were found under the house of a United Paws’ volunteer. Since being rescued, they have been living in a foster volunteer’s home and are now socialized, healthy, and happy. They are both affectionate, curious, playful, and snuggly. Nekko and Kuro would be good in a home as the only cats, or with other friendly cats and dogs.

If you are interested in Nekko and Kuro, visit United Paws’ website for more information and videos. You can also check out all the other kittens and cats available for adoption through United Paws.

IT IS KITTEN SEASON & WE NEED FOSTER VOLUNTEERS!!!

United Paws has just rescued 4 orphaned kittens in a field, the mother found nearby, deceased. Mid-week a small kitten was found in an attic, alone, weighing only 5.5 ounces. Her name is Nala and she has been placed with a nursing Mama and her 7 kittens born about a week ago. The Mama was rescued by a UP volunteer just before she gave birth.

United Paws is in need of more safe, loving fosters who will work closely with United Paws to care for kittens like these. It's kitten season and there will be many more abandoned kittens and pregnant Mamas who need our help to survive and thrive. United Paws works closely with all our fosters, giving them the support and help they need. Help us save lives!

Please contact United Paws through FB messenger or email at [email protected] or call us at 503-842-5663.

COURTESY POST:

LOST CAT LOOKING FOR A LOVING & WARM HOME!

This beautiful cat found my home in the Netarts area and has been hanging out for a couple of weeks. Very friendly with me, sleeps under my deck, and wants to come inside but, unfortunately, I can't because I have a very nervous elderly little dog. I have been feeding this gorgeous cat and looking for the owner because clearly this cat belonged to someone. Sure hope he wasn't dumped. There is no chip and my neighbors don't recognize the cat.

I am hoping I can find a new home for this green-eyed beauty if no one claims him. Please email me if you recognize this cat or if you are interested in adopting. I really want him to go to a good home, out of the cold and never hungry!

UNITED PAWS HAS KITTENS READY TO BE ADOPTED & LOVED!!!

This litter of kittens was found in a rural area no Mama in sight. They were thin, needed medical attention, and a safe place to heal and grow. A United Paws' Foster Volunteer has cared for them for two months and they are now healthy, and happy.

There are 4 males and 1 female, about six months old. The kittens are loving, friendly, playful, and love to snuggle in a warm lap. The one independent kitten, Fred, is in to his own thing, but when HE decides to snuggle, he's all in. They will get along with other friendly cats and dogs and older children.

All of the kittens are vaccinated, neutered or spayed, micro-chipped, and now ready for their own forever homes.

IN MEMORIAM: WALT VAN CAMPEN

United Paws of Tillamook and the animals of Tillamook County have lost a longtime dear friend, Walter Van Campen. He passed away after several years of serious illness. Walt was a gentle, talented, compassionate, and mostly humble man. Long before we all had phone cameras, Walt was a photographer, capturing the grace and elegance in the natural world—a world he often saw as complicated and cruel, yet still beautiful.

Walt's photos are his legacy. Feral cats were his special love, creating stunning images that showcase the cats' independence, beauty, and remarkable resilience. For many years, Walt was dedicated to helping United Paws find homes for so many of its rescued cats. His remarkable photography was his number one skill for photographing and helping cats in need. Co-founder of United Paws, Patti Bumgarner, was a longtime friend of Walt's and they worked together rescuing cats for years. She said, "United Paws will forever be grateful to Walt for his help and his stunning photography. He will be greatly missed." Patti submitted some of Walt's photographs, included in this post.

Walt leaves behind 6 beloved cats. If you are interested in adopting one of his cats, please contact Maria at Tillamook Animal Shelter 503-812-0105. PLEASE NOTE: The cats featured in this post are NOT Walt's cats. These are photographs Walt took of feral cats during his years working in cat rescue.

TIGGER NEEDS A NEW HOME!

A week ago Tigger's human mom died and now he is alone in the house with only daily visits from a family member. Tigger needs a loving family to care for him. About a year ago, Tigger had been adopted by an older woman who was lonely, longing for a cat, and she wanted to help Tigger, who also was alone. Now, once again this beautiful boy needs a new family.

Tigger is a total LAP CAT. He wants to be with a loving human, content and happy. He also loves his cat toys and on occasion, still runs around the house like a silly cat with the zoomies. Tigger is about 13 years old and blind in his left eye, but it doesn't slow him down. He is a complete indoor cat and needs to be since years ago he was declawed.

Given all of the loss and uncertainty in Tigger's life, he is still a great cat who wants human companionship and love. Are you the special person who can step up for this special cat who deserves and wants a safe and loving home?

ADOPTED!!! Thank you all for your interest and sharing this post!!!

CAT of the WEEK: FRANK, Ol' Blue Eyes!!!

Frank is a chocolate point snowshoe Siamese , about 2 years old. At some point in his short life, Frank was abandoned by his human family in Bay City and left to fend for himself. A kind woman began feeding him and gained his trust. Eventually, Frank moved indoors and has settled in to the comfort and safety of a human family.

Frank is a handsome boy who loves the attention and love from human companionship. He adores being petted and responds by rubbing his head against you and rolling around in bliss. Frank loves his wet food and an occasional treat. We think Frank would adjust just fine to a dog since he is friend’s with the foster family's Shepard mix. We also think he would be fine with other cats, given a proper introduction period. Younger kids may not be the best fit, but he could probably adjust if all else is going well.

Frank will likely need a period of adjustment in a new environment while he learns to trust another person, but once you are Frank’s, he’s gonna love you like no other. Frank is neutered, cat box trained, and ready for his forever home.

CATS of the WEEK: BRUNO & ANTOINETTE

Bruno is a very confident six-month old kitten who joyfully welcomes you home. His purring motor starts the minute you cuddle him. His coat is a rich marmalade color, and he has a striking orange and white banded tail. Bruno is currently being fostered in a home with dogs, and his foster carries Bruno in to meet the dogs occasionally . The animals trade sniffs and things stay calm, so it is likely that with a proper introduction, Bruno will be fine in a home with dogs.

Antoinette is so cuddly soft she seems to melt into your lap. She comes off as shy, but warms up and purrs quickly when petted. Antoinette is currently fostered in a home with dogs, and her foster carries Antoinette in to meet the dogs occasionally . The animals trade sniffs and things stay calm, so it is likely that with a proper introduction, Antoinette will be fine in a home with dogs.

Bruno and Antoinette have been fixed, vaccinated, and socialized. They are ready for caring homes. If you are ready to adopt, or perhaps have a “Meet & Greet,” fill out United Paws' adoption application for pre-approval and get ready to fill your home with some sweet marmalade kittens! They can be adopted separately as well. Adoption app below. Or call United Paws at
503-842-5663.

HAPPILY ADOPTED!!!! Massimo has his own family now and sleeps and eats indoors now. He is a very happy bot😸

COURTESY POST

United Paws' volunteer Kei recently rescued some kittens & cats near her home, in a populated area just outside of Tillamook city limits, near a couple of farms. One particular 15-pound boy has turned out to be a total sweetheart, friendly and starving for affection and a home of his own. He must've had a human family at one point.

His name is Massimo and he is one big sweetheart. He is about 5 years old, and has just been neutered, and vaccinated. He also received a flea treatment and de-wormer meds.

This boy is a lover, but has had to endure some fights with outdoor cats who have scratched his nose. The street fighting life is not for him! Massimo prefers head scratches and belly rubs. Kei says Massimo has never shown signs of aggression, and prefers having a safe home to go to. Massimo is very calm and observant, like a Zen CAT. Kei's daughter Lizzie (a cat whisper in training) has been spending lots of time with Massimo and says he especially enjoys being brushed. In case you didn't noticed, Massimo wants you to know he eats well and uses the litter box like a pro!

iI you are interested in giving Massimo a happy, peaceful, and loving home, call Kei at (971) 837-3088.

URGENTLY NEED a SPECIAL FOSTER or ADOPTER for TWO SISTER CATS JUST SURRENDERED to UNITED PAWS

Gizmo & Madison are in need of a quiet secure home where they can adjust to life without their human Mama who died in December. Judi loved her cats dearly, as did her husband, John. Sadly, John is unable to care for their beloved cats due to his own health issues. They affectionately called them "the Girls."

They adopted Gizmo and Madison (Maddie) from United Paws about six years ago, providing a loving home. Sadly, everything changed in 2024 when their humans faced serious health issues, and now these beautiful cats are grieving since the passing of their human Mama. The cats need a quiet loving home without other animals so they can recover from the loss and upheaval they have faced in recent months.

We hope to find a new permanent home for Madison and Gizmo soon. In the meantime, we are looking for a special foster situation. These beautiful long-haired tuxedo cats are bonded, having been together since birth. Gizmo is social and playful once she gets to know you, then she will let you hold and snuggle her. Madison is shyer, but with patience and kindness, she will warm up to you. They are both grieving but will eventually look forward to a new family and more happy times.

Please contact us right away if you can help these dear cats. Call or email United Paws: Phone 503-842-5663 or [email protected]
