Dog parks can be deceiving. Cute puppies playing together right?

Why we don’t like them even though they seem harmless:

❌ They are a breeding ground for disease 🦠
❌ Dogs there often display toxic and dangerous behavior with pet parents that don’t know how to handle said behavior.

⭐️ Socialization is all about quality and not quantity. We want dogs to have great experiences with emotionally stable dogs that love other dogs.

❌ When Ralph was a puppy I took him to the dog park daily. He would start out super anxious and then calm down. Then one day another dog went after him and his anxiety amplified even more until he started then going after other dogs himself.

I cherish these walks with my big guy. I know they won’t be here forever as he reaches 9 soon, but right now he’s one of my constants. I look forward to walk time every day.

Being a mom is my favorite thing in the world. I am so so lucky. But the newborn stage is a challenging one for me and was last time around too. It’s sort of suffocating at times. Having this being that needs you 24/7. Some days I’m a prisoner to the couch because of an upset tummy or her just needing to be held. And I am definitely a do-er. I like to go, go, go and do, do, do. The past year has been a mental game with not being able to be myself physically and often pushing myself too much. But it is also my reminder that it’s okay to be still sometimes.

Even on the suffocating days, I’m thankful for these beautiful little souls I get to take care of. And I’m thankful for this furry soul that handles the chaos with me.

🌟 Dogs are magical to me. I don’t remember a life without them to be honest. I’ve always connected more with animals than with people, and that started very young.

⭐️ I’ll never forget when our cocker spaniel passed. I think I was in third grade. I missed her so much. After that, we got our first golden retriever who became my best buddy.

⭐️ I talked to her like she was a person. She felt like she was my sister. If you’re a dog person, you know the connection we have with them is sort of indescribable. They are such special souls. And they connect us to one another too (the amount of convos I’ve had out in the world about dogs…can’t even count them.)

⭐️ I am so thankful for every furry blessing that I meet, and I am so thankful for this business which connects all 3 of us trainers to you all and your dogs. Dogs will always be magical to me.

✅ It’s so important to find a breed that fits your lifestyle:

-Do you want a high energy breed to exercise with?
-Do you need a lazy dog that doesn’t need tons of exercise?
-Do you have kids in your home?
-Do you have guests over constantly?
-Do you travel a lot?

How much work do you want to put into your dog?

❌ We find that a lot of owners get a dog because it’s cute, but then they run into tons of problems along the way.

There’s A LOT to consider with breed and temperament.

Do your research before you bring home a pup and it could save you a lot of stress in the long run!
