Wow what a weekend! We had so much fun this weekend at the Western States Horse Expo attending the mustang open horse show. Jackson was such a good boy. We tried new things we’ve never done before and cleaned up in the ribbons. All our speed events last night we shockingly got 1st places in!! Making us champion of that division and winning our first belt buckle together!

Today was a little bit more challenging as I could tell Jackson was hitting a wall and super exhausted from showing last night. He held it together for a few classes and placing well. I decided to walk up to the judge after our flat class and told her I was scratching from the rest of our classes. It wasn’t fair for my horse to keep pushing him. My horse always comes first over ribbons. One of the judges actually commended me for putting my horse first and said that that was really good horsemanship. As I was walking out of the arena all the spectators and other competitors applauded us. At the end of the day, we still placed 3rd overall in our division for the whole show. Super proud of my boy.

It was such a fun show and I met some amazing people. New friendships were blossomed this weekend. ❤️
