在今年的歐洲寵物犬訓練師年會(PDTE annual conference)中，講師英國行為獸醫Dr. Amber Batson在提及使用藥物於異常行為的處理時，提到幾個重點：
　
✅記住除了遺傳基因問題之外， #壓力源 也是造成大部分行為異常的原因。

✅記住許多異常行為是由 #疾病 所引起或導致惡化。

✅記住許多異常行為是為了降低慢性壓力負面影響的個體 #因應機制。
　
『在面對持續存在壓力源的情況下，沒有藥物能消除壓力』
　
在這幾年的諮詢有越來越多的個案是曾經或是正在使用藥物調整行為狀況，也因此需要對於這樣的狗兒家人花更多的時間，更嚴謹地溝通、評估以及給予建議。
　
因為狗兒家人同時也受到狗兒狀態的影響，相對處於較一般情況更大的壓力生活中，他們需要有更多的支持去做出對狗兒來說更好的選擇*。儘管狗兒遇到壓力時有較好的狀態，或是有較被人接受的行為表現，但也會因此不容易找出潛在的問題核心。
　
『異常行為表現是因應壓力的機制』，讓我們了解不能只為了狗兒不吠叫、不破壞、不焦慮、不攻擊，更需要從源頭來逐步改善，找出為何吠叫、為何破壞、為何焦慮、為何攻擊。環境所造成的壓力容易理解，但也經常無解；過度要求、訓練(即便是獎勵式訓練)，以及不適合的活動方式也會是慢性壓力來源；人的行為、情緒也經常是狗兒的壓力來源**，此時人就需要更有意識地做出改變。
