A big welcome to Jennifer!

My name is Jennifer Gworek Meyer, and I’m excited to join the Riding Club as a new instructor!

I began riding at age nine in Virginia and quickly fell in love with Eventing*. Through high school and college, I worked as a student rider, competing up to the Preliminary level while helping with barn management, lessons, and schooling horses.

After stepping away from the sport to pursue a career in Environmental Consulting, horses eventually pulled me back. Last year I bought my first horse—Mufasa, a 6-year-old chestnut warmblood—and we’ve since competed at Beginner Novice and Novice, with plans to move up to Training this season.

I’m passionate about developing confident, harmonious horse-and-rider partnerships and look forward to helping you reach your goals on your riding journey!

Meet our Head Trainer and Manager!

Sierra Valencia has been immersed in the equestrian world her entire life. Growing up in Pony Club, she developed a strong foundation in horsemanship, riding, and instruction. Throughout high school, she gained valuable experience by starting and training young horses.

She went on to attend William Woods University, where she earned a degree in Equine Science. While there, Sierra competed on the Hunter/Jumper circuit throughout Missouri, further refining her skills both in and out of the show ring.

After returning to the Bay Area, Sierra joined Isola Stables, where she quickly became an integral part of the program. She has built a successful lease program and developed a competitive show team. Under her leadership, the Isola IEA team reached both Zone and National Finals for the first time last season.

Sierra remains actively involved in the show ring, competing locally on both client horses and young prospects. Her expertise, dedication, and supportive coaching style make her a valued mentor and trainer for riders of all levels.

Meet our groom Caitlin!

Caitlin has been around horses for most of her life, starting lessons at just 7 years old. She later spent time as a working student, which gave her the chance to learn even more about riding and horse care. After heading off to college in New Zealand, Caitlin eventually found her way back to the sport—not to chase ribbons, but simply for the fun of it and the joy of being in the saddle again. These days, she spends much of her time with her horse, Journey, who is her pride and joy. Caitlin is at the barn nearly every day and is always happy assist you with all your needs!

Meet our groom Vienna!

Vienna first started riding at Isola as a student and has been part of the barn family for many years. She’s worked as a camp counselor and a working student, helping out with both horses and riders. Now in college, Vienna took a short break from barn life but couldn’t stay away for long—she missed the horses too much! She’s always happy to lend a hand, share what she knows, and answer any questions you might have!

Meet trainer Theresa!
Theresa’s passion for horses began at just 8 years old when she attended her first horseback riding summer camp. From there, she began taking lessons and leased a horse in the Oakland Hills, where she gained hands-on experience and a strong foundation in horse care and riding.

Theresa worked at a stable in the Central Valley, where she began teaching riding lessons to children as young as two years old. She also started competing in shows across Northern California, earning placements in every class she entered and deepening her love for the Hunter/Jumper discipline. She is currently continuing her equestrian education and professional development through Isola, with plans to keep growing as both a rider and instructor.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for our incredible partner, Arthur. After a career filled with unforgettable moments, he’s trading in the arena for wide-open pastures and peaceful days in the sun. 🐴✨

From early mornings in the ring to late-night check-ins at the barn, Arthur gave us everything — and then some. Whether he was winning ribbons or just being his steady, soulful self, he did it all with quiet strength and endless heart.

Now it’s time for lazy pasture days, extra treats, and all the scratches he could ever want. 🥕☀️🌾

Thank you, Arthur, for every ride, every lesson, and every moment. You’ve more than earned your rest. 💛
