Fudge progressing nicely with his training!👍

Fudge can get very over aroused around other dogs!🐕🐕

The reactivity of your dog depends on many things, one of which is if the other dog is very reactive, then it will be much more difficult for your dog!👍

Here a pug is snapping at every dog that walks past(oblivious to the owners enjoying the tea!)😆

Rather then add a consequence for the pug reacting, the owner picks the dog up, rewarding the dog, also the other dog moves away, another reinforcement!🐕

Enzo coming along nicely with walking in Williamstown high street over the weekend!👍

If you have a leash reactive dog, Teaching them to walk calmy next to you on one side can dramatically improve their reactivity!🐕🐕

When we teach a dog to walk at a "heel", we have a set criteria:

-walk on either left of right hand side
-calm state of mind
-no tension on the leash
-behind or next to left/right knee
-no marking/sniffing
-10/15 minutes of structured walking then being released(free/break).

Danny,Leo and Enzo are certified Cafe Dogs!☕️☕️🫖🫖

We spend lots of time with the training dogs in cafes, bunnings, outside dog parks, town, trying to generalise their behaviours!👍

Outside of training the board and training dogs have lots of down time!👍

Trips to the beach, bush walks, geelong waterfront etc!🐕🐕🐕🐕

We try to take the dogs out as early as possible.and avoid the peak times, trying to avoid the out control dog owners and their dogs!

Danny turns lots of heads when out in public!😆

His recall is coming along nicely!🐕🐕

2nd Sunday of the month means it farmers market time!🥐🍊🍄‍🟫🥕

Danny and Enzo did great, lots of distractions, many dogs/people/kids/food!🐶🐶

Once you have a dog with great life skills, it opens up a whole world of opportunities to spend more time with you! 👍

Recall training with Enzo!🐕

Enzo has a good understanding of the recall command(come: move towards me in my direction).👍

But will often blow off the command under moderate to high distractions such as other dogs, scents etc. 👎

Here he hasn't had any breakfast, and has a very good understanding of the command, and knows I have high value treats on me, but decides the sand is more interesting!😆

A low level stim comes on, on a low level, makes it mildly annoying, as soon as he comes, it turns off, which is reinforcing itself, + positive reinforcement in the way of prime 100! 🐶

Over the next few weeks we will gradually make it more difficult for Enzo!🐕🐕

Billy's 2 week board and train stay finished yesterday! 🐶

Billy made good progress over the past few weeks, with a new baby joining Billie's household soon we worked on teaching Billie to be calm!👍
