Kilkenny Dog Training Club is set up to promote non blood dog sports, encourage responsible dog ownership , help people unlock the potential and enjoy their dogs. We promote exercise for dogs and owners with training as a realistic alternative to euthenasia and surrendering dogs to rescue centers .

Just a reminder our drop in won't be going ahead tonight but we will be back next week.
The course will still be going ahead as normal it's just the drop in taking a break.

We had a big dog class last Wednesday apparently 😄 2 rottweilers and 2 shepherd's.
The 2 shepherd's are trained since pup and so we do get very lucky with them and while a journey a much easier one to walk.
The 2 rottweilers had a past and particularly the big boy in the back, have come a long way to where they are now
All 4 dogs were excellent in class, keeping focus, preparing for their next test, and practicing skills they need for day to day life. Well done to all of you!

Very good drop in tonight with 2 new dogs in. Some advanced dogs, some beginners all working together.
We've a mix of reasons to train in this room but the one common goal is to handle the dogs safely. Well done everyone poodles and rottweilers alike

Well there was always one thing certain for us and that was that the Boss was made of gold 😃
So so proud of Ozzie in his green last week after achieving a goal that took a long time training!
Ozzie achieved the IKC Canine Good Citizen Gold award which tests for a high standard in training, temperament, and day to day responsible ownerships.
The Boxer is not commonly seen as an obedience dog or really much more than a clown around and have fun kind of dog but from day 1, we knew Ozzie was more than just a clown. He had an owner more than capable of handling him beautifully and to his best ability.
Our trainers are huge fans of the Boxer dog and Ozzie is a prime example of why. He's full of spirit and fun, and at the end of his owners lead shows he is far more than just a clown. We are also huge fans of this duo 😉
