Pure Black Walnut Syrup:
~1–2% sugar (half of the amount in maple syrup)
Takes 60–80+ gallons of sap for 1 gallon of syrup. (maple only takes 40 gallons of sap for 1 gallon of syrup)
More labor-intensive → often more expensive.
(trees tapped, sap collected, boiled down and canned)
Best uses:
Drizzled over vanilla ice cream
Paired with strong cheeses
Used in cocktails
Finishing glaze for roasted meats
Gourmet desserts
