This is to share how incredible it is to foster animals that come into our care. Our goal it so encourage you to become involved by fostering, volunteering, donating or supporting your local rescues. A beautiful and touching impromptu puppy playdate as we met the two very important and loving couple that saved Oaken and his mama & siblings, and Osa who was pregnant with her six puppies. They are from Cross Lake and Karen from Sash-Mar Paws Helping Northern Dogs asked if there was a remote possibility that we could arrange a get together. And we were able to make it happen!

Thank you so much to Osa’s family for hosting us on their gorgeous property. Oaken, Osa, and her two puppies Talia and Gus got to reconnect and play together. And best of all, we got to meet Gabby and Mike, the couple that saved them and gave them a brand new chance at life.

We are so very grateful, in so many ways!!

We just completed our first air companionship with two pups from Antigua. It was so well organized that we will do it again, and encourage others to be flight companions for your local rescue.

We worked with Dogs and Cats of Antigua Rescue & Wellness Sanctuary and they were phenomenal! Helped us to understand the process, created a private WhatsApp chat with alll the parties involved in Canada and Antigua, and walked us through the entire process.
The pups did very well and they are now in care with Niagara Dog Rescue and Paws Across the Water. Feel free to like their pages and watch for updates on Bristol and Coco (Coconut).

A big thank you to Giovanna in Kingston who coordinated everything from the moment my heart told me to fill out the form on Sunday morning to this morning’s update on the pups.

We will continue to update you all on Mia’s Wish and who knows what’s in store for us in 2025 as we continue to honour Mia’s legacy. ❤️🐾

We are absolutely heartbroken to share the news that our beautiful Layla died suddenly of a rare disease.
Her family is absolutely devastated and we send them our deepest condolences.
We love you Miss Layla. Your memory will forever be imprinted on our hearts.

How Mia’s Wish Began

When Mia joined our family in May 2008, we thought we were adopting a healthy pup from a veterinarian. Little did we know, Mia was a puppy mill pup who came to us with the deadly Parvo virus. Within three days, she was showing signs that her organs were failing and she was dying. We did everything we could to save her including driving two hours from our home to purchase a home remedy called Parvaid. We were with her at our family vet’s, 45 minutes from our home, every day for five days to give her the medicine every hour, while she was under the care of our vet. With so much love and desperate prayers that she survive, Mia pulled through. We all felt it was a miracle! Fast forward to June 28th of this year and we had to put Mia to rest. She had lived a full life and it was time for her to be with our first dog, Tasha, at the Rainbow Bridge.

Before Mia’s passing, we had our first foster Blue. He came to us very unexpectedly and although we never really thought we’d become a foster home for dogs, Blue changed all that for us. He was with us for four weeks, enough for us to enjoy fostering and want to do it again, in the near future.

Little did we know that Mia would pass the day before Blue was adopted. A week later, while deep into our grief, Miss Luna came into our lives. We felt it may be too soon to foster again but Luna softened our grief and opened our hearts to her sweet personality. She reminded us so much about Mia that we sensed that Mia had everything to do with her coming into our lives. And hence, feel it’s Mia’s wish that we continue to foster and give puppies another chance at life.
