Netherfield Equestrian Centre was dreamt up for those who seek comfort, security, and a lively yet peaceful

atmosphere with their horses. Here, one will find the facilities that equestrians need: a flood‑lit sand arena, access to bushland trails, shaded day yards, grazing paddocks, wash bays, and even a social corner with coffee, tea and cold water — for what rider could be expected to endure without refreshment? Having experienced the feeling of not being good enough at other facilities, we sought to create a different atmosphere — one where ambition, skill, or the right type of horse are not prerequisites for belonging. Whether you want to rebuild confidence, connect with like-minded equestrians, or reach your goals, whether they involve competition or simply forming a better bond with your horse, Netherfield is the place for you.

Lesson-Space (Bring your own trainer, or ask for recommendations to those who already come to us)

Arena hire, including in the evenings for those who prefer to escape the heat of the day
Photography services — for what is life without a portrait of one’s beloved horse? Overnight accommodation for both horse and human
Access to bushland trails
Book your own riding time or register to take part in a variety of events organised by our fantastic team. Netherfield is for riders who put horse welfare first, who seek kindness and warmth, and who wish to be among like‑minded souls. After all, “Happiness in horses is entirely a matter of chance,” but here, we like to think we improve the odds.

Netherfield - a full-care agistment facility

Hi and welcome to Netherfield. My name is Giovanna and I am a horseaholic. I was born and raised in Germany, and have since lived fairly all over the globe. Ever since I first started to stick my nose into a pony’s tail at the age of 6, and then finally was allowed to start riding at the age of 11 I was never far from stables where horses were near. When I lived in the USA I took two years of college education with focus on Equine management and training. I worked for various farms and stables, and while I am no trainer, instructor, or teacher, I have solid experience on how to swing a manure fork and keep horses and pastures happy and healthy. Recently I fell into luck and my husband and I were able to purchase beautiful 9 acres in Mount Cotton, only 40 minutes south of Brisbane. Here, we have a 60x20m floodlit Dressage arena, filled with ELD sand, 10 paddocks, 8 stables, 15m round pen, and trails just across the road leading into the Sandy Creek Conservation Area. I’m a member of RASDEG and happy to bring any other Dressage enthusiast along to our various shows, events, clinics, etc. We are also less than 10km away from the Redlands Bay Horse & Pony Club, and equally as close to various experienced instructors and trainers. We welcome your own instructors and trainers to come here to teach, and I strive to host clinics at least once a year.

The vet I use (Chris Wain) is only a 10 minute drive up the road, and Sam Buchanan is the farrier for my own horse. Both are happy to pick up new customers, however you are equally welcome to bring your established vets and farriers in :) When I am not neck-deep in horse related stuff, I enjoy board games, reading, video games, hosting BBQs, and pursuing opportunities for continuing education in all horse-related fields.
