Pretty neat blue we hatched in 2023. Looks to be fully pinstriped with the pattern continuing to its belly. He is pushing a couple feet now and we are hoping for more siblings to him to hatch at the end of next month. Www.JessesJungle.com

Ever get the feeling you are being watched?
Happy to have a group of these guys after the last few years of moving and rebuilding i have not been able to focus on expanding into new species as much as id like. That changes this year. These guys have been here for 6-8 months now and grown since these were taken. i was fortunate enough to pick through a fresh import. i chose the animals that had the best health coupled with mostly great tempers. Most have been eating off tongs or the palm of my hand now.

One of the most interesting behaviors I’ve witnessed is the utila island spiny tail iguanas nesting with completely blocked nesting chambers. While digging they eventually pack the entrance to the laying chamber shut with sand. Entrapping themselves completely underground to lay eggs. For us this has lasted up to a week. After a week an empty lizard emerges and repacks the sand. All the while the male watches over her. Through the process he stays by her side. Www.JessesJungle.com

Monsoon season is here and many of our girls are dropping eggs! This tegu breeding season has been especially long due to the great weather we’ve experienced after the initial hot waves this year. Last season we were well into the 100s now and had a very dry spring. We had a record breaking day with 5 clutches laid within 12 hrs. More tegus are breeding currently and a few are preparing to lay. Www.JessesJungle.com

Late night egg collecting. The tegus took a year to adjust to Texas but now they are producing gorgeous fertile clutches!
Happy mother's day from the jungle. A little late but miss snow laid for us on mothers day! The Texas winter was long but once spring came the animals sure knew it! We have lots of big announcements to share but for now enjoy the worlds first clutch from a pure red snow. This female was produced by us while we were located in Louisiana in 2022 which was the first year red snows were produced world wide. We have been hard at work growing the facility and expanding into new species among much more all to come.
