Well, whaddya know? It’s been a while since I’ve searched for mentions of me on the internet. Little did I know, I was mentioned in the Huffington Post in 2015!
If they had contacted me, I could have told them that my mommy could have been arrested at one town in which we filmed. The people making the movie were supposed to check out local laws at all locations, but they didn’t that time. When she found out, she was furious because she said bad things could have happened to me. As it was, she had to drive straight through Ohio without stopping to get to Pennsylvania, because I was considered vicious and would have to wear a muzzle just to go potty. BREED SPECIFIC LAWS ARE STUPID!

These historical dogs were valued members of the military units they served.

Share your life with a deaf dog! We love you just as much as we would if our ears worked... Look what my mommy did with me!

This week is National Deaf Dog Awareness Week. Deaf dogs may not hear you say "I love you," but they know in action and can see how much joy they bring to their families.

It has been brought to my attention that many of my friends and followers have not yet seen my big movie, Dog Jack. It is now on YouTube for free, so you no longer have any excuse for not watching me in action. :-p

"Dog Jack" is the story of a slave boy and his dog who escape the master's plantation, join the union army, and have to face their former master on the battl...

Hah! I may be feeling my years, but I still rule! I was just curling up in my bed, and my brother Max was lying in the bed next to me. I stood up and gave him the evil eye - he not only got up from his bed, but he left the room and went to lie down in his crate! Sigo siendo el rey (o la reina...)!
I am still the queen!

Getting old is no fun. I'm really tired all the time so I sleep a lot, and getting up kinda hurts. My breakfast didn't taste so good to me so I ate it slower than normal. Mommy was worried about me today, so she put me in the car and took me to McDonald's for a cheeseburger happy meal. Boy, did that taste good! Thanks, mom!

Mommy rushed me to the vet today. No big emergency, but when I went out to potty, I came in with a string of green goo from my (lady bits). The vet stuck a swab where I can't tell you (and I didn't care for it much), said yes, I have goo, and gave me an antibiotic and a probiotic. Such is the life of a princess. Good news is my weight is my long-time norm, 56 pounds. Always svelte! Go, me...

Well, we got the results. Actually it was a couple weeks ago, but... I was identified as a carrier of Degenerative Myelopathy, and here's what the OFA says about that:
--
CARRIER (A/N): This dog is heterozygous A/N, with one mutated copy of the gene and one normal copy of the gene, and is classified as a carrier. Carriers are far less likely to develop DM, but we have confirmed DM in a few carrier dogs. They may be used carefully in breeding programs to keep their good qualities while reducing risk of DM in future generations.
--
So, whatever is ailing me, it probably isn't DM, but I still have weakness in the hind end, and mommy thinks I'm in pain.

My mommy ordered me a test today. As you know, I've been getting weak in the hind end and she has suspected I have Canine Degenerative Myelopathy. She was going to take me for an expensive test at the university, but she found out there is a DNA test for it. CDM is one of those things where you rule everything out first, and that process can be long and expensive. Now we can rule it out first before doing the more expensive and invasive tests. If you or your vet thinks your dog may have this, they can now tell for sure. Order the test for $65 here:
https://secure.offa.org/cart.html

Each kit contains an FTA card, collection swab, instruction sheet, and mailing labels. A certificate or report along with automatic registration in the OFA database is included.

Hi, everybody! Bad mommy... she hasn't been posting here for me. I just wanted to let everyone know that I've turned 14 (that's pretty old in people years) and still going strong. I'm still swimming and I still hate it! But it's really good for me, mommy says, so I don't get too mad at her - besides, I feel good afterward. I want to say Happy Valentine's day to all my friends... it's my favorite day because I love EVERYONE! Here's one my mom took of me when we were filming Dog Jack...
