It is a sad day 😔💔
My black line has come to a temporary end as I lost the only unrelated doe and litter to RCD. The last passed away at 5:30pm 😭

This is a late post too, and now I have RCD, it'll be a miracle if this muddy little one survives.

This was taken on 16th Jaunary. This is a himilayan and the coat colouring is an interesting phenomenon that can happen with himilayan kits. This kit I have been monitoring since day one as it was born very small. I found it outside of the nest, quite cold and it was the first kit to arrive. I originally put it into Silk's nest, with her black babies to warm up and then returned it to Alena the next day, once she'd finished kindling.

As you can see, the coat looks very dirty, but it isn't. The himilayan gene is a temperature controlled colour gene, so because this little dude almost died of hypothermia, the tips of its coat it coloured. It will moult out into the usual colouring you'd expect to find on a himilayan in the future.

Pretty cool though!!!

I am very late on this post and this post comes with some sad news.

This nest of blacks arrived New Year's Eve and now, at just 3weeks, 5days old the last 4 are orphans 💔

RCD is in town, so I'm going to say it was that that killed Mum and 4 of her babies. The first 2 young losses happened the night of a thunderstorm. I found them outside of the nestbox and drenched, so I assumed thunderstorm scare = death. But 6 days later, dead Mum and 2 more dead littlies, all on the same day, just days after I learn RCD is in the area. It can no longer be ignored. The likelihood of RCD is high, so I'm just going to say I have it.
