Hi friends! Unfortunately I’m going to be slowing down the rescue. It’s been too hard to find homes more recently and I’ve been having a hard time keeping up with my home and work obligations. I will still be accepting owner surrenders.

I will also still be here to offer advice and help with your bettas. I also still moderate a great group called Betta Fish Keepers.

Lastly, I do still have two rescue babies that I’m trying to find homes for. One will come with a 5 gallon setup. I will also be selling my 9 gallon Fluval Flex soon, it’s 100% ready to go, fully planted and beautiful, ready for a betta. If you’re interested, please message me. Two recent adoptions!

Today this blonde baby was adopted by Claire who has adopted before. We love repeat customers and this beautiful boy now has a fantastic home.

The blue betta came to me as a surrender a few months ago. He was in very rough shape but he remained active and alert (still able to chase down and eat mosquito larvae). He can’t swim well and seems to have a permanent swim bladder issue. I’m so grateful to Jamie (again!) for adopting some of these special cases. She gives them love and a clean, warm home for as long as they have left. ❤️

I will always remain so thankful to those who adopt. I couldn’t do this without them.

I’m so happy that Jinx was finally adopted yesterday! He was with me for about 2 months with a very stubborn swim bladder issue. But he finally made a recovery and was ready for a new home with Greg. Greg adopted from me in the past and was ready for another. I’m so appreciative of all my adopters and 2,3,4 time adopters as well. Rescue has been slow lately but hopefully I’ll be able to pick things up again soon.

Late on this one, but one of my surrenders, Phoenix, was adopted by Jaime. Jaime is a 3 time betta adopted now and I’m so grateful she wanted to help out this special needs case. Thank you so much Jaime! Here is Phoenix swimming in his new tank with his shrimp friends. Happy swimming!

Long shot here, but I have to ask. This is Phoenix, he’s a surrender I’ve had for about a month. He has survived Dropsy but he has a swollen abdomen that I can’t figure out. I’ve tried all the medications and it’s not going away. Because of the swollen addomen, he has trouble swimming well. But, he’s active and curious and likes to greet me. Currently he’s stuck in a 2.5 gallon, uncycled tank. I would love to let him live out the rest of his life (however long it may be) in a better tank. I do not have any other open tanks at the moment, otherwise I would just keep him.

Ideally, the tank would be cycled, at least 5 gallons, with a soft substrate (sand or aquasoil) and a lower water level so he can reach the surface when needed. This would be considered a type of hospice/disability placement. If you have the ability to help him out, please send me a message. I’d love to find something better for him.

I unfortunately had norovirus last week and managed to get some adoptions out, but forgot to post them. Bernie and Phineas found new homes with Todd. Happy swimming!
