This is Percy, who is a stunner of a Jack Russell. I also treat his mum, Peaches, who I saw today. Percy and Peaches are in good shape, but Peaches has some intermittent lameness that massage helps with. Percy slept whilst Peaches relaxed for her session, and the good news is that she walked out moving way better than when she arrived 😀.
Is your dog intermittently lame and it is undiagnosed? Massage is greatly beneficial in helping with soft tissue and muscular injuries. Feel free to contact me with any questions. 🐕 ❤️

Here is proof that little Lola can lie down during massage 😂. She is a live wire and not much slows her down. The exuberant welcome is pretty special, though I've got to say ❤️. I love working with her - she is such a character. We've moved to monthly maintenance sessions now to keep on top of her mobility and help keep muscles toned and able to support her luxating patellas. Looking forward to our next session. 🐕 ❤️

Well, Maggie is doing great for 50!! OK, so her mum was 50 but... Maggie is doing great 😀. Her lameness has improved dramatically and there is significantly less movement around her stifle joint (suspected cruciate ligament sprain).
Making simple changes to your home and your dogs activities of daily living can change things. Add massage into the mix to help with muscle tone, waste removal around injured areas and treatment of other over compensating muscles. You are setting your dog up for success just like the beautiful Maggie ❤️ 🐕.

Huntley is so big I have to work in sections on him 😂. I love working with him - he makes the best groaning noises during his massage and, once settled, really enjoys it. He had problems with a hind paw as a puppy, and it has affected the muscles on that leg quite significantly. However, his owner, Pauline, reported today that he is now wearing down the claw on that paw, which hasn't happened before. I also noticed during his session today that the muscles on both hind limbs are now more evenly sized and toned, so good news all around! 🐕 ❤️ 🐾

Massage can help with any muscoskeletal condition, and you may not realise that an injury to a paw can cause further problems up the legs and across the body - everything is linked and massage can help rebalance those overcompensating areas.

Coming to my massage sessions near you!
As part of my membership of the canine massage guild, I am required to do 25 hours of continuing professional development, and I love it!
Today, I attended facilitated stretching, which will put more tools in my toolbox and allow me to help even more dogs on their journey to a more mobile and happy life 🐕 😊

I don't really like to talk too much about money online as I know times are tight for everyone, but this is probably one of the worst weeks we've had at the shop since opening back in 2021 (when we had a quarter of the stock!)

Just a reminder to check in with small, local businesses where you can. Thankfully we've been doing a lot of online orders in the last few weeks, but without the ongoing support of local people, we'll lose the small businesses that make our communities special.

The Nature Nook doesn't really turn a profit as it is, a good week for us is just a few hundred pounds, but we can't afford to have many more weeks like this one if we want to keep rescuing. It would only take a few additional customers a day to take us from survival mode to a thriving little business. Your money won't make a difference to a million pound business, but it will to us.

We'll be open as always from 9.30-4 on Saturday and offering a 10% off discount to try and drive some business our way.

I am looking for any local dog shows or businesses in Paignton or surrounding areas, that have the facility to allow me to set up for canine muscle health checks this year.😊

I offer this service free of charge so I can :-
A) let people know if their dog does have any muscular issues.
B) talk to as many people as possible about the benefits of canine massage.

I'd be happy to pop up in a pet shop, dog groomers, or dog training class.

Ever moving Nessa - until the massage is over and I've left the building 🤣. She loved her session today. She's recovering after Tplo surgery (she ruptured her cruciate ligament). I'm pleased to say that she is doing great and is building up the muscles of the affected leg very nicely 😊. Jenny, her owner, made sure she had regular massage during her rehabilitation, which meant that her mobility and range of movement hasn't deteriorated, and there is no build-up of trigger points or myofascial pain. She has had the best chance at recovery.

Little Sammi had her monthly maintenance session this week and was so relaxed that we got through the whole session without any fancy sausages 😀. She's doing great and I'm so happy to be working with her and helping her to stay healthy, mobile and cheeky with it ❤️ 🐕

Looking too gorgeous. The lovely working cocker girl that I see regularly for maintenance sessions. She is go, go, go then when I get the massage bed out she stops and drops. She is a lively dog to treat. Another active dog - at 8 years old, her owners want to keep her active and in shape for as long as possible.
All dogs benefit from Massage, they don't need to have a specific condition or injury. The earlier you start the better :) 🐕 ❤️

Guess who's back? Alfie's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back 😀...
Alfie had two lumps cut out a couple of weeks ago, and after testing, he is all clear! I was so excited to see him back for his massage session. I think he was happy to be back too - it might have been the treat, but he deserved it 🐕 ❤️.
