Sometimes the pain is silent — until it’s too late.
Ocular disease in cats is not always caused by trauma.
Viral infections, especially in stray and unvaccinated kittens, can rapidly lead to severe inflammation, pain, and even loss of the eye if treatment is delayed.
In this case, early medical care controlled the infection. When the eye could no longer be saved, timely surgical intervention removed the source of pain and prevented further spread.
With proper treatment and surgery, this kitten returned to a pain-free life with a good quality of living.
