Meet Cash!

Cash is an 8-year old neutered male, boxer/pit mix. He is up to date on shots, medical history of surgery on a hind foot/leg in 2020. He is fine around children and good with other dogs, but does have some anxiety and quirky behaviors. He prefers a calmer environment. He loves fetch!

Owner is moving and needs to find a new home for this pup as soon as possible. This dog resides on POW but the owner is willing to bring him to Ketchikan for a meet and greet.

Meet Bluey!

In his kennel Bluey presents as an aggressive, hyper dog with a deep throaty bark. Coming out of his kennel Bluey presents as a spastic, hyper husky - literally hugging and hopping along with the shelter employee. He took one look at me and jumped on me.

Bluey is a totally different dog outside of the kennels! He is impulsive and easily distracted but he is highly food motivated and very in touch with his human. He was cured of jumping on me in favor of sitting in just minutes with positive reinforcement. When you pet him he melts into you! He absolutely loves attention. He pulls gently on the leash but is easily redirected - that’s is until you’re headed back to the shelter - and then he turns his after burners on.

Bluey is reportedly a chill house dog- and is clearly smart and ready to learn. He’s a Malamute-possible-Corgi mix who needs lots of physical exercise and mental stimulation.

Don’t judge Bluey by his kennel presence! Take the time to meet him and get to know his sweet self. He does appear a bit insecure/nervous but will do well with a strong confident owner.

Here’s a much longer clip of Charlie. I was trying to get him to sit - he didn’t understand the request but you can see how focused he is on me. This dog is truly seeking his forever person and will not disappoint!

Charlie is an adult neutered male pit mix. He is gentle and loves attention. I do not know his feeling about other dogs or cats.

Meet Charlie! Charlie is an adult, neutered male mutt - likely with some pit bull /Staffordshire terrier in there.

Charlie is the strong silent type. He is calm, curious and very gentle. He appears to be food motivated and while his nose is working over time picking up new scents he is equally interested getting affection from a human. He pulls gently on the leash but circles back immediately when his name is called. He doesn’t appear to know many tricks but makes great eye contact and leans into you when getting pet.

If I were adopting this one would already be mine!! I don’t know his temperament around other dogs - he does not appear overly focused on the other dogs in the kennel.

Even if you’re not in the market for a new dog Charlie would love for you to take him on a walk!

Mr. Pluto made it to Bethel last night! He is our 212th dog that we have rescued from the Typhoon Halong devastation.
We have been in contact with his mom, he is actually getting neutered today and then will be heading to Tunt to her soon.
