I am a breeder based in Edinburgh, breeding for variegated and capped in black and Russian blue, and shadow. I will occasionally have other varieties available but do not breed rex. Please be aware that my breeding plans are primarily to produce rats for myself as pets and show animals. Whilst I may have kittens available for pet homes, I cannot guarantee if or when any will be available. Please n

ote that the NFRS maintains a list of its studs and ratteries as a convenience but doesn't endorse any stud, rattery or member. Therefore it accepts no responsibility for any rats homed by me or any other member.

I have both bucks and does available for pet homes from the end of this month. These sweet wee rats are a mix of variegateds and Berkshires, with varying degrees of mismarkings.

I'm generally more active on Instagram these days, but I will have kittens available from my current litters in a few weeks - both bucks and does. I haven't made my final decisions on keepers yet so don't know exactly who will be available, but there'll be a range of colours and (mis)markings.

Huge apologies to everyone who has been waiting on a reply from me - I've been avoiding the internet somewhat. I am aiming to get through the backlog over the next few days though!

A quick post with a bit of housekeeping (featuring my lovely Moonflower).

The first thing is that I am going to be actively taking a bit of a break from rattery admin while I have no litters. While I will be checking the messages now and again, I won't be routinely monitoring them so replies will be even slower than normal.

The second, and perhaps more important, is a change to my homing process. I am now part of a group of Scottish NFRS breeders who are using a single group for homing kittens. Our hope is that this will make homing easier for everyone involved - instead of filling out a separate application for each of us, you now only need to fill out a single application. I will have both bucks and does available from my current litters. These kittens are supremely confident, loads of fun, and have no off switch! Bucks are mainly black variegated and black capped, with some mink and Russian blue, and one RB Berkshire. Does are mainly capped with one variegated. The youngest are currently 5.5 weeks, so it will be a few weeks before they are ready for homing.

Despite being none of my favourite things in rats (I prefer does, markings, and not agouti), W**d is solidly one of my favourite rats. He was a tiny runty kitten I didn't think would survive, then wormed his way into my heart. He was the obvious choice to keep as company for his brother Mosrael, which was then cemented when he developed an ear infection right at homing age (which has left him with a slight permanent head tilt). He's the first one to the cage door to say hi, popcorns about like a kitten, is quite possibly one of the worst agoutis I've ever seen, and has absolutely zero muscle tone. Sliding off my hand is a regular occurrence, and never seems to result in trying harder next time.

He was completely fine by the way - he only dropped a few inches onto the blanket in my lap and then continued pinging about to annoy his cage mates!
