🚨 Important PSA from NAHS kitten! 🚨

At Naperville Area Humane Society, every cat and kitten in our care deserves a clean, safe, and healthy environment. One of the simplest yet most crucial ways we make that possible is through a steady supply of cat litter.

❗️We are currently in need of both clumping and non-clumping cat litter.❗️

Clumping litter is essential to keeping our cats’ spaces clean and sanitary on a daily basis, while non-clumping litter is especially important for our fragile kittens, who need the safest option while they grow strong and healthy.

Having enough litter on hand not only protects the health of our cats and kittens, but it also reduces stress, promotes positive habits, and ensures every feline feels comfortable during their stay with us.

Meet Abby, a 6-year-old sweetheart with eyes that will melt your heart and a soul full of love to give. She has truly mastered the art of the puppy dog eyes - one look, and you’ll understand just how special she is. 🐾

Abby is a gentle, loyal, and resilient companion who has overcome two ACL surgeries and the heartbreak of being surrendered after many years in a loving home. Unsurprisingly, adjusting to shelter life was challenging for her, and her stress and anxiety quickly became apparent.

Now, as the shelter’s beloved “office dog,” Abby has visibly relaxed and flourishes in this calmer environment. She greets every visitor with a wagging tail and a big heart. Abby takes her office duties very seriously. If you plan to enter, your first priority must be giving her pets before anything else!

Above all, Abby continues to offer unconditional love and trust to anyone who shows her kindness. Her resilience is truly inspiring, and all she wants now is a calm, peaceful forever home where she can relax and be someone’s whole world.

Abby would flourish in a loving home where she can be the center of attention. She shines when she has one-on-one time with her people and adores spending time with children. Since other animals can be stressful for her, Abby is looking for a family where she can be the only pet and the star of the household!

She’s not asking for much - just a patient human or family who will give her the time, care, and love she deserves. In return, Abby promises to be your loyal best friend, your gentle shadow, and your greatest comfort.

Rev up your hearts and have a wheely good time with a few adoptable pups at the Illinois Harley-Davidson Summer Send-Off! 🐾🏍️

Join us tomorrow (8/30) at Harley-Davidson as they fire up the grill and the engines one last time before summer ends! They're sending off summer in true Harley fashion with a free BBQ cookout, exclusive new bike promos and test rides from 10am - 3:00pm.

Naperville Area Humane Society will be present with adoptable dogs, information, and goodies from 12pm - 2pm. Come say hi and meet your new best friend!

There’s no better way to say goodbye to summer than with good food, good people, adoptable dogs, and some good rides.

Thanks to the compassion of his foster family, the dedication of our hardworking staff and volunteers, and the love he received every step of the way, Derby never gave up hope. And now, his patience has paid off - Derby is officially adopted! 🎉

Medical Foster Needed! 🐱🩵

Meet Godiva, a petite, affectionate young cat who truly lives up to her name: rare, delicate, sweet, and one of a kind.

Godiva came to NAHS this spring after being surrendered from a backyard colony. From the very beginning, we knew she was special. She has always been gentle and loving, but her little body doesn’t move quite like other cats. Her back legs drag, her steps are uncoordinated, and she sometimes gets caught in repetitive circling or head-turning. While we can’t know for certain, it’s likely that inbreeding within the colony contributed to her unique challenges.

In her short time with us, Godiva has already faced a whirlwind of medical ups and downs: emergency surgery for intussusception, ongoing mobility issues, incontinence, and most recently, seizures. Yet through it all, she remains affectionate, curious, and kitten-like in spirit. She loves chasing toys (with surprising little leaps!), curling up in laps, and forming deep bonds with her people.

Now, what Godiva needs most is a medical foster home - a safe, quiet space where she can rest, play, and continue her care outside the stress of the shelter.

✨ Foster Requirements ✨

-Comfort giving oral liquid medication on a schedule

-A flexible routine to help manage her needs

-A calm, quiet home environment

-A ground-floor setup (mobility and litter box challenges)

-Only calm, cat-friendly, UTD cats in the household (if any)

-Patience with incontinence and occasional nighttime vocalizations

Godiva deserves comfort, dignity, and the chance to thrive outside the shelter. She plays like a kitten, flops into laps, and seeks affection whenever she can. She just needs someone who can see past her challenges and recognize the sweet, resilient soul underneath.
