Happy Thanksgiving to all! 🧡🦃🍁

Today, our staff and animals want to share just how truly grateful we are! Every donation, every volunteer hour, every interaction on our posts, and every adopter who opens their home—you all make our work possible, and we are so grateful for every one of you. Your support keeps our doors open and helps every animal who comes through them feel safe, cared for, and loved.

Our animals are so thankful for all of you who brighten their days, whether you’ve met them in person or cheered them on from afar. On top of that, each of their photos below highlights something extra they’re personally thankful for this year, so make sure to read them! 🧡🐾

Thank you for supporting our mission, uplifting our animals, and being part of their story.

Happy Thanksgiving!

‼️This animal is not currently at the shelter‼️ This post is to assist in the rehoming of an animal so they don’t have to spend a day in the shelter. If you or someone you know can provide a loving and safe home for the pup, please reach out to (609)731-9643

Hi, I’m Milo! I am a 9-year-old Carolina dog. While I am an older guy, I have a big puppy heart! My owner sadly passed away, and I’ve been hoping to find a new family to love. I have arthritis in my back legs, but I still enjoy walks, car rides, meeting new people and dogs, tug of war, and doing my zoomies. I can’t jump up to excitedly greet people anymore, so I stand next to them and wait for pets—and with your permission, I’ll still try to sneak into your lap.

I used to live in a house with a fenced yard, and I loved sunbathing, exploring, and watching squirrels. I’d be happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard again, or at least more space and people or dogs around to keep me company.

I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and know my basic commands. I walk pretty well, but I sometimes pull toward dogs or squirrels, and I get nervous around new people on walks. I use a front-clip harness and shock-absorbing leash to help.

I’m neutered, up-to-date on my shots, on flea/tick prevention, allergic to chicken, and take arthritis meds twice a day plus joint supplements. I can’t jump like I used to, so I may need a little help getting onto things.

I hope I can find a home with love, space, and comfort again.

Please reach out to (609)731-9643 with any questions or interest in this sweet boy.

While Santa is on his way this weekend and we cannot wait to see everyone and their fur family in their winter best, we also want to give a shoutout to everyone who joined us for our fall PAWS event, the Zombie Walk & Furry 5k. PAWS enjoyed our largest running/walking crowd of humans and dogs as Star Wars characters, Pink Ladies and T-Birds, Toy Story characters, ballerinas, Lorax, and so much more! Thank you to Brunning Endurance Co. (https://www.brunningendurance.com/) for helping us with another fun run! We cannot wait to see everyone again next year!

Also, a HUGE thank you to our Zombie Walk and Furry 5k sponsors, Cat Care Hospital (https://catcarecincinnati.com/) and Clubhouse Sports Grille (https://www.theclubhousesportsgrille.com/)! PAWS is able to help the dogs and cats that come to our shelter due to the fantastic support of our volunteers, staff, donors, and sponsors.

We wanted to take a moment to share an appreciation post for all of our past, present, and future adopters who open their hearts to our longer-term residents. These adopters truly deserve the biggest, warmest thank you we can give.

Our longer-term animals often need just a little more time to settle in, open up, and show their true selves. While the new intakes usually get attention right away, these longer residents simply need someone willing to move at their pace. And that patience — that willingness to slow down and meet them where they are — means everything.

Every day, we get to see their sweetness, their goofy moments, their loyalty, and the way they brighten when someone takes the time to truly connect with them. And then someone walks through our doors who sees all of that too. They choose the one who’s been waiting not because they’re harder, but because they’re worth it.

Because of adopters like these, the animals below finally get the chance to live the full, happy, loved life they were always meant to have. We are endlessly grateful for the people who see the heart, the charm, and the potential in the ones who simply needed a little extra patience.

Thank you for changing their world ❤️

Please keep an eye out!

Please share this urgent information. A senior girl was unintentionally left outside yesterday and it is hoped that someone has seen her. She is microchipped. The family is deeply distressed, particularly due to the current weather. She resides in the Hamilton/Oxford area. Please contact us or reply to this post.

Meet Kai — an oversized sweetheart with endless love and smiles to share 💕🐾

Kai is a 1 year old, 65 pound pointer mix who’s equal parts goofy, loving, and full of life. This big guy has tons of energy and enjoys walks, adventures, and stretching out those long legs every chance he gets. He does great with kids, cats, and other dogs, and while his playstyle can be a bit rough with other dogs, it makes him an awesome match for pups who love to wrestle and romp.

He’s still working on his manners, but he’s very trainable and especially motivated when treats are involved! His beautiful ticked coat is unbelievably soft and so pretty in person, and those puppy eyes he gives when he just wants love will grab anyone’s attention instantly. Most of his excitement comes from wanting to be close to you, preferably sneaking in a hug whenever he can.

If you’re searching for a fun, loyal, affectionate, and trainable companion, Kai might be the perfect fit. Call (513) 539-7297 to schedule a time to meet him! 💙🐾
