Troy
If you look up the meaning of the name Troy, it tells you it means "Foot Soldier"
My boy Troy was definitely a Soldier, he was a warrior, a fighter...
When Troy was 9 he had a blockage in his intestines, the vets operated to remove whatever he had eaten that was causing the issue, it turned out he had a tumour, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and was given 2 months to live. We gave him everything available to him. And he beat it.
At the age of 12 he had an accident in the garden, the likelihood is that he slipped a disc, his front leg was at the very odd angle, and he was screaming in pain. The vets didn't think he'd recover and suggested the kind thing to do was to put him to sleep. He recovered.
When he was 14 he suffered from Gastric Torsion. He was bloated, trying to be sick, he could hardly stand. I rushed him to the vets! I knew it was bad. My vet rushed him to xray, it was the worst news, his stomach was twisted!
I had 2 options put him to sleep or major surgery. We (my vet and myself) decided we'd give him a chance. A chance to fight. A chance to live. He took that chance. He beat the odds and survived.
Troy lived 15 long and eventful years!
