Turtle 🐢had a lovely birthday! The professor 👨‍🏫 and the Lady 👩🏻‍💼 took Turtle 🐢 for a long walk at Tanger Outlets, where he got to sniff about half the bushes there. He had his favorite boiled eggs for breakfast. Then 🐢 got a nice massage after dinner. He is now snoozing peacefully by the Professor 👨‍🏫. Being 7 years old is gonna be GOOD!

Turtle the Keeshond 🐢surprised us this morning. The dreaded, terrifying gray cat strolled across the backyard. For the first time ever, Turtle 🐢 took off after him and drove the cat from his domain. Yay, Turtle!

Busy day at the Bryan house. The Professor 👨‍🏫 and the Lady 👩🏻 worked hard getting ready for the holiday. Turtle 🐢 supervised. Wore himself out.

Turtle🐢 is trying to get the Professor👨🏻‍🔬 to feed him early. Turtle’s stomach is still on EDT. Notice, he pays no attention to the Lady👩🏻; she doesn’t feed him. At 5 and 1/2, Turtle has his own opinions about everything.

Turtle 🐢 is “helping” us cheer for THE DAWGS. He must be doing something right. GOOO, DAWGS!

Turtle 🐢 had a happy National Dogs Day. Actually, he is happy every day—as long as the Professor 👨‍🏫 and the Lady👩🏻‍💼 give him hugs and treats.

Turtle 🐢 the Super-Kees was not interested in photo ops on his birthday! Turtle 🐢 just finished a week in which he got daily play with 3 of the grands. He and Luke enjoyed rousing games of soccer ⚽️ for about 2 minutes each. The warm temps last week were not to Turtle's 🐢 liking. Turtle 🐢 is a pampered pooch who likes AC, cold water, and long naps 💤 on the coolest floor in the house.

Our nutty Turtle 🐢 can’t decide if he wants to sit for the MENSA exam📝or be klutz if the year. This week he learned to wipe his own feet on command. And 🐢 has a wide ranging vocabulary. But then 🐢 runs into walls and people. He barks at the Lady 👩🏻 and the Professor 👨‍🏫 when they come home. Oh Turtle 🐢, what’s next in your whacky world?

For the first time in over 3.5 years, Turtle 🐢 watched TV. There is a dog agility show on ESPN 2 - FASTEST DOGS USA. He watched it for a couple of minutes, until he saw me reach for my phone. 🤦‍♀️ Usually, he pays the TV no attention at all.

It’s taken us almost 4 years with Turtle 🐢 but we figured it out!
🐢 is a Dutch Deerhound! He is in ecstasy when deer 🦌 come through here and he bounds out to the fence to greet them. Unfortunately it always surprises us and we don’t get video of it. The deer 🦌 are noticeably less enthusiastic about 🐢.

Turtle 🐢 hasn’t been bothered by Covid-19. As long as 🐢 gets to stay in the house on these hot 🥵 days, he’s happy. 🐢 spent yesterday chasing a fly 🦟 that found its way into the house, probably when 🐢 stood in the door refusing to go out into the heat! Even the pesky squirrels 🐿 are not a strong enough lure to get him outside. 🐢 stands at the back door and barks at them. On a sad note 😢, Turtle’s best friend Rudy the Brittany 🐶crossed the rainbow bridge last week. Rudy was a member of our extended family for nearly 11 years.

Turtle 🐢 in a face off with grandson Luke. Luke blinked first. Turtle 🐢 the super-Kees wins again!
