This is why we train recall.
Not so your dog becomes a robot. Not so they’re always glued to your side.

We train recall so they can actually BE a dog.
Eszter gets to roll in the grass, sniff whatever she wants, explore, and just exist in the world. She has freedom because she has a reliable recall.

When I say “come,” she comes. Every time. That trust and reliability means she gets way more off-leash time than most dogs ever will.
A solid recall isn’t about control - it’s about giving your dog more freedom, not less. It’s about being able to take them more places, let them explore safely, and not live in constant fear of “what if they don’t come back?”

Your dog WANTS to run, sniff, roll around, and do weird dog things. Training recall is what makes that possible.
Freedom with reliability. That’s the goal.

Teaching door manners doesn’t have to be complicated.
Eszte used to be a pure hell on wheels when company arrived - jumping on guests, rushing the door, total chaos the second someone knocked. Now she goes straight to her bed (place) and waits calmly until released, even with visitors at the door.

Here’s what we worked on:
• Teaching a solid “place” command on her dog bed
• Building impulse control and duration on place
• Reinforcing the behavior consistently with every door interaction
• Gradually adding real-world distractions like doorbells and visitors
• Making it a non-negotiable routine - door doesn’t open until she’s on place

Door manners aren’t just about politeness - they’re a safety issue. A dog that goes to place when company arrives won’t dart outside, jump on guests, or create a stressful entrance for everyone involved.
The key? Consistency. Every single time. No exceptions.

If your dog struggles with door manners, start by building a strong place command first.

Then practice: doorbell rings, dog goes to place, door opens only when they’re calm and stationary. If they break, door closes and they go back to place. Rinse and repeat until it becomes the default.

It takes time and patience, but it’s one of the most important skills you can teach. Your guests will actually want to visit again.

Saying goodbye to Gus yesterday was bittersweet in every sense of the word. Four months goes by in a flash when you’re watching a puppy grow into their potential.

It’s been an absolute honor to give this sweet boy the foundation that will carry him through a lifetime of being the perfect companion.

Every lesson, every breakthrough, every tail wag—they all led to this moment. Go make us proud, Gus. You’re ready for your next adventure. 🐾💙
