Angles come in all forms. This week our angel was Sunny. Sunny saved Nathan's life! Yesterday after volunteering in the morning Nathan was in his room. I heard Sunny start to bark and then he came running for me. When I went into the room Nathan was in a grand maul seizure. He was face first in his pillow and unable to breathe. I quickly turned him over and he took a huge grasp of air. I tried to treat his seizure but it was too severe. 911 was call and the paramedics helped get the glucose he needed into his body. We then headed to the hospital. He was struggling to focus, answer questions or interact. They ran many tests, a CT scan, and a chest x-ray. They also tried to stay on top of his blood sugar as it continued to drop. At one point the beginning of a seizure started but was caught quickly. He was in a lot of pain and nauseous. We found he has pneumonia. He body wasn't able to fight it and so his addison's flared up causing a diabetic seizure. Once we got tons of steroids, antibiotics, and dextrose (sugar) into his body he started to relax. He was able to receive a blessing and we were all comforted. He has improved all night long and the gratitude and relief we feel is overwhelming. I am so grateful for the Lord's watchful eye on Nathan. I am grateful for Sunny and his watchful eye. I am grateful for the ward we live in. My Relief Society president, ministering sister and brother, bishop, and others friends have been a huge support and help to us. I am grateful for family, Dave, and prayers. Realizing that Nathan could have passed away yesterday is very humbling. I'm super grateful the Lord has more work for him to do here on earth. Let's just say my mama heart is full.
