Tip: A cool wet wrap around your dogs neck helps keep the dog cooler. Still AC as we want it now dogs do too. I see people walking dogs at noon on sidewalks. This is burning their pads on the feet, I have seen bloody feet being treated at the county shelter. Shade and grass with a cool wet wrap if you must be out with your dog. Water bowl with ice chips is great! But make sure the dog drinks slowly and not too much at once, that could be dangerous.

If you are training your dog a new command do not feed your dog. This way your dog will be motivated to work for you by the treats you use. If your dog is not treat motivated, try a toy. Remember to wash toys, dry them and put them up for a month or so, and when you pull those older toys out they are like new again for your pooch!

As for treats, pieces of plain chicken or small pieces of hot dogs work great! After every training session (keep it shorter for pups) feed your dog and let your pooch rest! NEVER right feed after an intense workout, wait 40 minutes, and watch out for too much water at once as well. Everything should move slowly. Training is not a race. Mix it up. Have fun!

Tip of the day: Dogs are not humans. Please treat your dog like a dog. Words not full sentences, they will understand perfectly once you are consistent with using the same word over many times.
EX: Walk, heel, stay, stand, bed. Very easy for a dog or pup to learn. A sentence would be fine during play, but short EX: "Get the ball". Lets Go! Eat your food while putting the bowl down.

Tip of the day: Even though it's cold or cool outside do not forget to have you pooch groomed. Just give an extra cozy thick blanket at night. Weather should never stop grooming dogs to be pampered. Mats hurt more than any bath or good groom would. ~P

Tip: Dogs do mourn the loss of a loved one. They may not eat, or want to play for example. Help them by petting them and hand feeding (for a short time) and a short walk around other people if the dog is people friendly. Give the dog a new treat or safe bone to chew. Dogs do get depressed.

Tip: Feeding our dogs can be so easy for most. But everything starts in the gut! Have you thought about trying a good Digestive Enzyme for your dog to try? A good gut is a healthy dog. I now have my rescue on a Digestive Enzyme. Her coat is super shiny and her f***s don't smell bad.

Tip: Because we feed and water our dog, that's not enough to gain their affection and trust. We must spend time walking or playing with our dog/s. That's bond building!

Tip of the day: Not all dogs who bark and bite people are on the offensive (fearful). Some dogs are extremely protective and can inflict extreme harm to people or other dogs. Learn to know the difference. Education is best.
