Mental Health Awareness Week 2026
This year’s theme is “Action”, and our horses remind us that small, steady steps can have an impact on our wellbeing.
Here at SLTH, we see every day how horses care for their bodies, stay connect to their herd and move with purpose. They show us that wellbeing isn’t about big leaps. It’s about simple, repeatable actions that help us feel safe, grounded and connected.
Here are 5 small actions we can learn from our horses.
Sleep 😴 horses rest in short, regular cycles. We thrive when we honour our need for enough sleep.
Fuel 🥘 just like horse graze to keep their energy steady, eating and drinking regularly supports our brain and body.
Connection 🤝 Horses seek their herd. Reaching out to others helps us feel held and less alone.
Play & purpose; horses explore, move and engage with their environment. Our hobbies give us joy, identity and space to breathe.
Move 🏃♂️ movement regulates a horse’s whole system. Gentle exercise does the same for us
This week choose one small action to begin with. Your wellbeing matters and tiny steps count. 🫶🏻
