Operation Pets Alive Operation Pets Alive is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit striving for a No-Kill Montgomery County in Houston, TX.

Since our formation 10 years ago we have focused on four life-saving programs. Our Trap, Neuter and Returned (TNR) program. We alter and vaccinate cats now living in managed colonies. This limits breeding and reduces intake of cats and kittens at our local shelter. Our Targeted Spay and Neuter program is currently working on an “In- clinic Clinic” concept which will bring low cost spay and neuter

services to those areas in Montgomery County that turn the most animals into local shelters. We have also partnered with another non-profit, K-9 Corral, to alter 1465 dogs in New Caney, Splendora, Porter & other areas of east Montgomery County where resources for having pets altered are limited. We have adopted over 1050 dogs and cats to our local community through our Foster/Adoption program. All are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay and neutered and are placed in suitable homes. Finally, our transport programs, Pups on Trucks, Flight for Life, & Puppies and Kittens with Wings, supplement local rescue efforts by sending “at risk” dogs, puppies or kittens to partnering shelters and rescues in the Northeast, and other areas of the country where these transport candidates realize a 99.9% save rate. The average live-release rate for our area shelters is currently 50-60%. As of January 2016, OPA has transported over 3,000 local dogs and kittens to families in Northeast, and other areas of the country where there is a greater demand for adoptable pets. Adoption success: kitty edition! 🎉

We've had some incredible cat adoptions lately, and our hearts are so full!

⭐ Seed was adopted by the same wonderful family who welcomed her sisters, Mouse and Sprout, just a few weeks ago. Now reunited, the trio is together again—and ready to live the pampered life they deserve!

⭐ Sweet Billy has found his forever home too! The only debate now? Which of the family’s daughters gets to hold him next!

⭐ Alba and Mighty were adopted together! Their new family includes a pair of twins who were thrilled to adopt a twin pair of their own.

🌟 Becky, one of our longtime residents, packed up her favorite toy and walked out the door with her perfect match—tail high and heart full. She’s now living life as Ginger!

🌟 Miles, the chillest pup around, found someone who truly appreciates his couch potato lifestyle. He’s now living his best life surrounded by cozy blankets and marathon cuddle sessions.

🌟 Billie (aka Cheese) finally found his furever family after a long stay in foster care. He’s traded foster snuggles for forever cuddles, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Ricky is a relaxed, chill kinda guy who’s all about the simple joys in life — good food, cozy snuggles, and plenty of naps. 😴 He’s a master of sneaking in snoozes whenever he can, and when he’s awake, he’s just hanging out until he finds the next soft spot to zonk out in — whether it’s under the couch or curled up in a fluffy blanket.

Words can’t express how grateful we are. 💛✈️

Thanks to one incredibly generous donor, our animals are flying first class all over the country through our Flight for Life Transport Program. This level of compassion and support is truly beyond words.

And something extra special happened this past weekend—while at the airport, a member of the airport staff met one of our precious pups and adopted them on the spot.

These moments remind us how kindness and generosity can change lives—not just for the animals, but for the people who welcome them home.

🐾 Meet Jazzy – The Dapper Gray Gentleman! 🐾

Looking for a sweet, snuggly addition to your family? Say hello to Jazzy, a charming gray kitten with a big personality and an even bigger heart! 💙

Jazzy is a playful little guy who loves exploring, chasing toys, and curling up in cozy blankets when it’s nap time. He’s always curious, quick to purr, and even quicker to love. 💫

This affectionate boy was rescued from euthanasia — he and his two sisters were saved at just one day old after their mama couldn’t be found. Jazzy has been bottle-fed with love and is now growing strong, healthy, and thriving on wet food!

We recently welcomed this sweet girl into our care—and now we need your help. 💔

Some images never leave you. A tiny, mange-ridden pup, skin and bones, limping across a scorching parking lot—alone, afraid, invisible. That was Faith’s reality.

She lived behind a crumbling strip center off I-45, surrounded by filth and garbage. No comfort. No kindness. No reason to hope. But when we saw her, we couldn’t look away. We couldn’t not act.

One evening, as the heat finally lifted, she emerged—hungry, cautious, and so very tired. That’s when we got her. Silent. Shaking. Shut down. She didn’t make a sound on the way to her foster home. Not even at the vet the next day.

The team at Stone Ridge Veterinary Medical Center of Willis gave her the urgent care she needed. Severe mange. Intestinal worms. A painful ear infection. But—miraculously—everything is treatable. ❤️

We named her Faith—because that’s what keeps us going.
Faith in healing. Faith in second chances. Faith in you.

Meet Rupert! 🐾

This 3-month-old sweetheart is equal parts playful and cuddly. Rupert loves going on walks, chasing after a ball, and curling up for snuggles afterward.

He has the most stunning golden eyes and a gentle, lovable personality that makes everyone who meets him fall in love.

While we’re not sure of his exact breed, he seems to be mixed with something on the smaller side—and whatever it is, it made him adorable.

Last week, six lucky dogs were transported to Minnesota through our amazing partner, Ruff Start Rescue, to begin their new lives!

These life-saving transports are a vital part of Operation Pets Alive’s mission as we work to make Montgomery County a No-Kill community.

Helping People Save Pets

Since our formation ten years ago we have focused on four life-saving programs: Community Cats, Spay/Neuter, Local Adoption and Transport.

Through our Community Cat Program we trap, alter and vaccinate free-roaming cats in Montgomery County. This limits breeding and reduces intake of cats and kittens at our local shelters. We also assist local shelters that do not yet have a Trap, Neuter, Return ordinance to save the life of feral cats turned into the shelter.

Our Spay and Neuter Program provides low-cost services to all citizens of Montgomery County with unaltered pets.

We have adopted over 6,000 dogs and cats to our local community through our Foster/Adoption Program. Our pets are showcased at locations throughout Montgomery County including at our cat café, The Great Catsby. All adoptable pets are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay and neutered, and are placed in suitable homes.
