Hi everyone!
Of course on the day I wrote a big post about the biz and who I am and supporting local my email connected to my website starts bouncing back messages and it took multiple days to get it fixed!

If you email me or use the contact page from the site, I would be super grateful if you commented here and said "sent a message" so I can confirm it's working overall and nothing will be missing.

So if you have emailed and didn't get a response recently, please try again, I'm not ignoring you!

Also, I can see the orders that have come through on the website, so that should be no issue and won't cause delays.

Thank you to those who reached out to let me know about this, I wouldn't have known otherwise!

Hello lovely humans!

It's been a long while since I introduced myself to the new people that follow Peachy Keen Pets, so it was due!

I'm Niki, the owner, designer, creator, seamstress one-woman show behind PKP. Mom to 2 black rescue pugs, Ebby and Ludo, self-proclaimed book nerd, and lover of all things dark and spooky! I started this business in 2009 after finding my chronic pain and disabilities from a bad accident too much to handle with my job at the time, so I came up with the idea, took some sewing classes, and jumped into a business course!

It's not always easy with this kind of chronic pain, illness and disability to run a business that depends on me measuring, cutting, ironing and sewing each piece, on top of marketing, events, shipping and everything else that comes with it! But I've been so lucky to still be around this long with so many wonderful people supporting me and the business through the years.

When you shop small with an indie business like mine, you make a huge difference to the life of a person (and her pugs) and I just wanted to thank you all for being here, for sharing your photos, for telling your friends about PKP, for sharing our posts and showing me so much love when I see you in person.

If you love PKP, I would be so grateful if you recommend us in the "buy Canadian" posts you see floating around, it's been an exceptionally challenging 2024 and any boost and word of mouth you're comfortable with is so greatly appreciated. Thank you all for being awesome!

I'll be creating some surprises for people this year for our mailing list subscribers, so the last thing I'll say is join up on our website if you want to see what's coming! I will never send more than 2 emails a month, and realistically it'll likely only be once!

Hi all!I wanted to update you on the shipping situation during the Canada Post strike. I started shipping earlier this week with ChitChats and they are posting 2-6 days depending on how rural you might be, so you still can get items to arrive on time if you wanted anything for the holidays!
I will ship 3x a week until Xmas so that we can keep things moving, email me if you want me to get a shipping time estimate for your location before you purchase.

The pre-made section on the site has newly been updated and I've added a ton more items in other sections too! Use PKP15 for 15% off until Dec 31.

I had to use this picture of Ludo looking disgruntled, because I realized he's actually holding Ebby's paw with his and that expression plus them touching is too cute not to share! His paws are seriously double the size of hers!

I'll be caught up to emails before the end of the day, so if you don't get a response from me please send again! 🎄This has been the most challenging year in business I’ve had in 16 years, due to my own health problems, the economy, low attendance at events, it’s been super rough! Your support and patience has my endless gratitude!

🎄I wanted to see how well Ludo could sit for photos and got the pugs to model a bit this morning, it was very adorable and Ludo did really well! If Ebby could roll her eyes at him, she would, because she’s an athlete overachiever and he’s a silly puppy in a 6 year olds body, just learning how to dog now that he’s out of the mill. He is such a d***y bulldozer but he’s learning so much! Very proud of this resilient guy, and proud of Ebby for not being a jerk even when he’s bumping into her 100x a day!

❄️ It's that time of year again!

❄️ The website PRE-MADE section has been completely updated with tons of new items at a discount, and all of them are discounted BEFORE the additional 15% off for this weekends sale on peachykeenpets.com

❄️ All items will ship when the Canada Post strike is over, OR you are welcome to pick up if you are downtown Toronto or you know someone who is near that can pick up for you.
All pick up's will be from my condo, I'll meet you in my lobby. I will not be able to meet anyone at another location.

❄️ If you want to pick up, EMAIL ME (no DM's) or write it in the Additional Info section in the checkout. I'll be sure to refund your shipping if you decide to pick up.

🎄Hello humans of the internet!

🎄This weekend I’ll be a vendor at the Canadian Pet Expo Christmas event at the International Centre in Mississauga, and if you want to pick up anything specific from me at the show, PLEASE EMAIL ME, no DM’s, with what you’d like.

🎄I will be sewing today and part of tomorrow to get last minute orders done for pickup. If you want holiday themed items it’s especially important to get your order in. I may not sew Saturday night between the event days so please email today!

🎄I made a bunch of bandanas this time around (some shown in pic!) as I know times are tight for so many of us, so I will have more lower price point options for gifts and your own furry friends.

🎄Please keep us little indie businesses in mind this holiday season, the last 2 years especially has been a massive blow in sales for so many of us and Amazon has plenty of money! If you’re not getting spendy this holiday season, I know myself and other small businesses really value when you share our posts, comment, send our website info to friends, etc 🖤

🎄Thank you to everyone who has been supportive in different ways, and patient during my chronic illness and injury issues, to every single one of you it doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated 🖤 Running a business during these times with significant physical setbacks feels like a lot and every order and kind message is so deeply appreciated.

🖤SURPRISE! Welcome home to our newest rescue pug, Ludo! 🖤

I love how many of you sent me his listing, when he was called Brawny. I am honoured so many people think of us when they see a black pug in rescue!

About Ludo:
🖤He’s about 6 years old
🖤He has the chubbiest ankles I’ve ever seen and I’ve provided photo evidence for your enjoyment
🖤He’s a sweet muffin with some people-anxiety from his mill days, but his fosters came a long way with him in 2 months and I know we will continue to help him trust and experience the world as time goes on
🖤He’s a big wrinkly boy with cute baby ears and so much extra skin, he’s been on a weight loss journey and seems so excited to run around now that he can!
🖤Did I mention he’s a total sweetheart angelmuffin?
🖤He loves soft toys, soft treats, and deep roll massages
🖤He has 3 teeth and sometimes one or two get stuck over his lip, which is why we changed his name to Ludo (along with the nervous nelly sweetheart who needed rescuing angle, which is also very Ludo-coded! For anyone who doesn’t know, Ludo is from the movie Labyrinth)
🖤He’s only been here since Tuesday night so he’s very new to us and settling in!

We are so happy to have been chosen to be his new parents, it’s going to take some time with training and him easing into his comfort here, but i saw how amazing he was doing in foster I know he will in no time!

***I know I’ll get asked this so YES he will be in a harness soon, but at the moment he’s an escape artist flight risk in a new home, first time in a city, and with fear of people. So the martingale was an adoption requirement for his safety until he settles in.***

I’m hoping as of this coming week I’ll be back to posting here, this year has been pretty awful to be honest and I couldn’t prioritize this, but I’m working on it 🖤🖤🖤

💕HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY TO OUR LITTLE EBBELINA!! 💕

We adopted this adorable nugget last September and I can’t believe it’s already been almost a year she’s been with us! At once it’s too fast and can’t possibly be that little! We are so delighted to have this wonderful and weird little beauty in our home to share our lives with! I can’t believe that I’m saying this but I think she’s even more brilliant than Miso, and I didn’t think that was possible!

We’ve already been on 2 long sniffy walks, she’s has a licky mat and some seriously long belly rubs. She’s current crashed out on the couch with her head hanging off, as she always seems to want to do!

I’m posting an outtake from a few summers ago when Midge and Gup were with us and we did a little Pride photoshoot 😍 I miss those two little gremlins and I absolutely loved this day with them!

I’m working on a lot behind the scenes, and I’ve been quiet over here, but I hope everyone who is celebrating Pride is having a gorgeous, safe, and affirming time! Happy Pride lovelies! 🌈

Day 2 at Woofstock! The weather is beautiful right now with a little rain brain between 12-1, then we are looking at clear skies for the rest of the day!

I’m at booth 104 along the perimeter, near the parking lot entrance, so I’m easy to find!
