We are a foster based rescue out of Illinois. We are a rescue in the Chicagoland area with foster homes in many suburbs.

We focus primarily on saving animals that are at risk of euthanasia or being surrendered to overcrowded shelters in rural areas of KY Our primary business locations are in Batavia and Plainfield, IL. We do not have a shelter for viewing animals. We are 100% foster home based and schedule meet and greets with approved applications only. We also hold adoption events so please keep an eye on our page for dates and times!

These 4 puppies have been waiting months to get chosen. Their mom recently got spayed so this will thankfully be the last litter she has. The owner is keeping the mom but these pups still need fosters!

🐾🐾 FOSTERS NEEDED SATURDAY 1/3 🐾🐾

There are 5 puppies left in this litter. 2 came up last transport. You may remember these 2 pictures posted looking for an emergency foster when one extra puppy was sent up accidentally. We had multiple offers to foster him but yet no one was willing to foster any of his 5 siblings who are still in the shelter. Their shelter pictures don’t do them justice. They are about 14 weeks old now and able to be fostered individually.

The first 5 puppies are from one litter and the last 6 (mostly white pups) are from another litter. They are all 4-5 #. The first 5 are 7 weeks old so they must be fostered in pairs or threes. The last 6 (mostly white) are about 12 weeks old so they can be fostered individually.

Blackey #2 and Tubs are the parents of Skeeter and Brownie. They are all living outside. The rest of the litter was rescued but Skeeter and Brownie have been overlooked. If the parents aren’t rescued soon, Blackey will likely end up pregnant with another litter that we will be begging for fosters for. The owners can’t afford them and do not plan to have her spayed so they all need fosters!

Willow/Vera is a beautiful 100% purebred Saint Bernard girl who is looking for the perfect forever home! Born around September 29, this sweet pup is already winning hearts with her gentle, affectionate nature. At about 25-30 lbs right now, Willow still has lots of growing to do and will become a true gentle giant.

Willow(Vera) is smart, loving, and eager to please. She does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. True to her Saint Bernard roots, she’s affectionate and happiest when she’s near her people, soaking up love and giving it right back.

Ember and Ginny were from a litter of 4. They have been waiting for rescue since June! Their 2 siblings have been rescued, one just last transport. The foster is fostering Beans and Paw’s Pups also so she has her hands full! Can you foster one of them to lighten the load?

These dogs are posted on dog giveaway pages on facebook currently!!! The owners were willing to work with a rescue but they are getting impatient and don’t want to wait any longer. They need fosters NOW! If they don’t they will likely be given away without knowing if they are actually going to a good home.

The mission of Starfish Animal Rescue is to rescue animals from high kill shelters, provide transportation of these animals to secure, non-kill establishments, to promote and facilitate responsible pet ownership, and to intervene in cases of animal cruelty. We commit to eliminating euthanasia of companion animals in North America one shelter at a time.

We are a rescue in the Chicagoland area with foster homes in many suburbs. Our primary business locations are in Batavia and Plainfield, IL.
