Import Local

Import Local Composting service offering fermented and probiotic foods, farm fresh eggs, nutrient rich soil, and more in exchange for residential kitchen waste.

Weekly and bi-weekly pick-ups are available for a small fee depending on location Import Local is a food repurposing service operating in the Greater-Boston area. With us subscibers get access to clean foods through a local network of participating farmers and homesteaders by contributing their kitchen waste for a short fee. Using a bucket system contributors throw their leftover or spoiled food

and discarded paper products into a bucket. Import Local picks up those buckets biweekly and in return offers another bucket for them to refill. We offer this exchange as an incentive for people to make less of a carbon imprint by composting with us. Along with a clean food item that comes from partnered local business we bring our subscribers into a closed-loop network by processing the waste permaculturally using animals, worms, insects, and bacteria to convert it into an all natural biomass in the form of clean meats, healthy eggs, livestock feed, and nutrients. Permacultural techniques that bring wonderful soil to our customers requires zero chemicals. Our most important employees are thousands of Red Wiggler Worms and armies of Black Soldier Flies. Along with participating farms animals around New England, nothing goes to waste at Import Local. Our Youtube videos keep our customers in the know as far as their food is concerned; where it is going as well as where it is coming from. Import Local is about empowering people at the most fundamental level; being able to have control over what they chose to eat.

Hey Everybody,
We have had frigid temperatures out here and one of our participating farms lost last week's eggs, so we only have a few dozen. Plus, the chickens are not laying much and are not under UV lights or lamps. We are concerned about delivering them this Saturday if the temperatures will freeze and crack the eggs. But, I you want we can text or call you after they've been dropped off, so you can grab them before they do. If this is something you can do, let us know and we can set aside some for you. Of course it is a full dozen if you have a dual subscription. We do have a mango habanero hot sauce that is ready and a fabulous lion's mane tincture. Call, email, or text what you would like us to do for you.
Cheers,
Jeff

The economic impact on small businesses post-COVID is incalculable. Here at Import Local we adapt to these changes and sculpt our services to meet the needs of everyday people. This trailer was donated to us after a fox took our flock and ended egg production for us. To live up to our promise we provided members with local farm eggs at our own cost. We took scrap wood and build a chicken tractor with donation to start over. These healthy girls eat food scraps and will be laying soon.
