THIS DEPUTY WASN’T SUPPOSED TO COME HOME.
On May 31, 2025, at 1:53 a.m., a Leon County Deputy responded to a 911 call in Jewett, Texas.
He didn’t know he was driving into an ambush.
He didn’t know an AR-15 was waiting.
He didn’t know he was seconds away from never seeing his family again.
Evil fired EIGHT at point blank of 223 rounds through the windshield—aimed straight at his heart, Center Mass.
By every measure, this should’ve ended in tragedy.
We should be folding a flag.
We should be writing his name on a memorial wall.
We should be comforting a family that just lost their entire world.
But we’re not.
Because this time, the glass protected him.
Because this time, we were ready before the worst happened.
Because Operation Safe Shield was already in place.
This wasn’t luck.
This was legacy.
This was the life-saving power of one choice made in advance.
Now it’s your turn.
Let this be the miracle we whisper about…
Or let it become the movement we never stop fighting for.
Because next time? We might not get a second chance.
Prayers don’t stop bullets.
Vigils don’t protect deputies.
“Thoughts” don’t send anyone home alive.
Protection does.
Preparation does.
YOU do.
That Deputy is alive today because someone, somewhere, decided not to wait.
Someone believed a piece of glass could mean the difference between heartbreak and homecoming.
They were right.
So don’t wait for another obituary.
Don’t wait until another name trends for all the wrong reasons.
Armor up the next cruiser.
Shield the next life.
Be the reason another hero walks through their front door tonight instead of becoming tomorrow’s headline.
Because evil doesn’t wait.
And neither can we.
Fifteen years ago, I started K9s.org with nothing but scraped knees and a prayer.
Not for praise. Not for politics. I did it for people.
For those who run toward the danger… and for the families who pray they come back.
Operation Safe Shield isn’t a project. It’s a promise.
💥 To show up and protect those that protect us.
💥 To make sure today’s miracle becomes tomorrow’s standard.
💥 It’s about choosing life over loss. Every. Single. Time.
💥 So here’s my ask—from one beating heart to another:
If this story moved you… don’t just feel it. Fund it. Share it.
Because silence doesn’t stop shooters. But YOU can.
💥 Be the reason someone comes home.
💥 Be the shield that stands between danger and daylight.
💥 Be the proof that we don’t need another tragedy to act.
We imagined Operation Safe Shield in 2021.
We proved it saves lives in 2025.
And now—we need you to keep it going.
If you’re reading this, you’re part of this story.
Let’s write the next chapter—together!!
💔 Or we bury another hero and wonder why we didn’t move faster.
💔 Or let this be the last one. Your move.
I am personally asking you, from the deepest part of my heart:
If that Deputy’s life matters to you—don’t just scroll past it.
Don’t say “thank God” and move on.
Show up.
Give back.
Help us do it again.
That officer should’ve died. His family should’ve been planning a funeral.
Instead, he went home. He hugged his kids. He lived to serve another day.
Because of a piece of glass—funded by people like you.
This is what your donation does. It doesn’t disappear into red tape.
It becomes the only thing standing between a hero and heartbreak.
💙 Give $223 in honor of the .223 rounds he survived.
💙 Or give $22.39—because even small miracles deserve big support.

Every dollar is a prayer with armor.
Let’s make sure the next deputy gets to come home too.

Special thanks to one of my dearest friends, Dr. Clifford Dorn, and his tireless army of soldiers who brought a bold idea—first imagined in 2021 at Schiller Ranch—to life.
Clifford has selflessly done more for Brazos County than most will ever know… and more than anyone could ever truly comprehend.
His quiet leadership, unwavering integrity, and relentless dedication to service have left a legacy that will outlast us all.
Thank you, Clifford Dorn—you are legacy in motion.
It’s an honor to know you, and a privilege to call you my friend.
