*** WARNING - Heat Stroke in Dogs ***
The temperature is hotting up this week! Its generally safe to walk your dog in temperatures up to 19°C (68°F), but above this and dogs are at risk of heat stroke.
Heat stroke is a life threatening condition and occurs when dogs are no longer able to self-regulate and keep their temperature at a comfortable level. This commonly affects dogs exercised outside on a hot day, or worryingly left in cars or conservatories. Tragically, vets see hundreds of cases of heat stroke in dogs each year and many of these prove fatal.
Please walk your dogs in cooler temperatures - NO DOG HAS EVER DIED FROM MISSING A WALK, BUT DOGS HAVE DIED FROM BEING WALKED IN THE HEAT.
