SiAna has a 2 for 1 post! As promised, this is a photo from her therapy visits today. Daddy nearly forgot! It can get busy on visits. It went well and she was not as nervous today. SiAna also wantsd to celebrate National Dog Day with her friends. Extra treats have already been enjoyed. Daddy offered her the little container and she chose a big mouth full (two treats). Ha, ha... SiAna hopes all her friends get extra treats too!

SiAna is afraid Daddy broke his promise of a therapy visit photo. This was her first visit since May and she was a bit on the nervous side, so Daddy chose to make it a calm visit. Instead, we know her friends enjoy seeing SiAna get her post visit cookie! Enjoy the video as much as SiAna enjoyed her special treat!

SiAna is marking 6 months since her emergency veterinary visit where she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Since then, with medication and supervision from her cardiologist, she is doing well. Today, she wants to tell you a little more about the emergency veterinary clinic she visited.
Daddy discovered VEG Veterinary Emergency Group nearly a year before the visit. He noticed it across the parking lot from Lowe’s when he was there to pick up a few things and decided to visit them to see what they were like, just in case. He liked what he saw! We were able to visit them again last year at our local dog festival, Bark in the Park. They offered a refrigerator magnet and we declined because we did not want to add to more things around the house, but something made Daddy go back to get it. Good thing he did!
Daddy called VEG right before they left the house to let VEG know they were coming. They were quickly welcomed in the exam and treatment area. This place does not just take you pet and leave you in the waiting area not knowing what is happening. Patients have their pet parent right next to them for everything, with the exception of x-ray. It is a whole open and comfortable area with multiple exam tables, chairs and couches, and the oxygen and regular kennels too. With this set up and approach, the whole staff is very accessible if the pet parent has questions.
During SiAna’s initial exam, Daddy was able to be an extra hand and hold the oxygen tube at SiAna’s nose while the admitting information was collected. When SiAna was placed in an oxygen kennel, the staff moved a chair over for Daddy to sit with SiAna to keep her company. Daddy was allowed to say as long as he wanted to as well. He decided to leave a little after 2AM since SiAna was improving. However, the staff offered for him to say longer. They actually have a little private room with a bed for pet parents to stay overnight and they will give these individuals a toiletries bag with things like a toothbrush, toothpaste, eye mask and the like. It was very impressive! They know that the pet parent can be just as stressed as the pet and it is a fantastic way to care and comfort them too. The VEG communication was fantastic too. When Daddy woke up, he had a text message from the overnight doctor letting him know SiAna improved throughout the night and she would likely be able to go home later that day. Daddy went to check on SiAna and visit her in the morning, box of doughnut cream puffs in hand for the staff. She was doing well and eating too. His mind was settled and he did not want to be in the way since they were busier at the time, so he came back when SiAna was ready to be released. The staff was so good, kind and thorough with the whole visit, right through the discharge process. The medication was well explained and they also provided a list of pet cardiologists in the area. SiAna and Daddy were sent off with a thank you for visiting us and we hope that you do not need to see us again. But if we do, we are glad that VEG is only about 13 minutes away from the house! And, they are in communities across the country, so check them out in case you might have a need for them. The staff at VEG was kind enough to take a photo with SiAna too!
SiAna hopes everyone is having a Beautiful Sunday!!!

SiAna & Daddy are sad this morning. A little earlier, our dear friend Trooper of The Life of Trooper and Sugar plus Tahji and Seeva went to his sister, Sugar, who passed away just a little over two years ago. We are heartbroken, but comforted that he is at peace now. Go rest on Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt Mandy's lap, Trooper...😞🐶💔

SiAna is so content to be having a weekend breakfast with Daddy. It is the first time since mid May because the weekends were so busy! SiAna is ready for her taste of eggs in the photo. It was in the plans to relax. Everything was pretty much back to normal!
Although Daddy watches for SiAna's signals and asks constantly, there were three little accidents today that needed to be cleaned up. Daddy got two, but didn't realize there was another one. It was in an area she never has accidents in, the bathroom, so the linoleum floor was easy to clean. But the bottom of his house shoe with groves, not so much.
Daddy has discovered that the best way to clean the bottom of shoes does not take much work, but does take time. Fit a disposable trash bag into a tub that will fit the shoe. Add water and floor cleaner that will just cover the soiled portion. Set the shoe in the solution for at least 2 hours. The debris will soften and easily float off. Any remaining debris can easily be scrubbed with an old toothbrush. Spent toothbrushes are always saved to be used for purposes like this. Daddy usually does an extra step to sanitize with rubbing alcohol.
Although the day did not go as we had hoped, it will still be a beautiful day for us. And, SiAna hopes it will be beautiful for her friends too. A very Beautiful Sunday to you all! ❤️🐶❤️

SiAna had a difficult time while healing from her ear infection. She was not hearing well and things were startling to her. She just wanted to be close to Daddy. As you see in this photo from a few days ago, really close! She had no hesitation climbing from Daddy's lap to behind his neck. She was accommodated as best as possible. Her hearing seemed like it was starting to come back yesterday, but not my much. Daddy gave her a gentle ear massage last night and it improved a little more. It still is not too good, but enough for him to say "nose kiss" and SiAna jumps and gives him one and received a treat in return. As you might imagine, it is one less stressful thing. Plus, it looks like GrandPaw is going home from the hospital today! Thank You so much for your well wishes! Daddy saw a few, but haas not read all.of them yet.
Today is truly a Beautiful Sunday and we have a bit more normalcy. SiAna hopes all of her friends are having a Beautiful Sunday too and a good week ahead!

SiAna & Daddy do not talk about personal lives too much, but Daddy was at the hospital visiting GrandPaw at Good Samaritan Hospital . He has a procedure planned, will be ok and able to go home in a few days.
While visiting, something caught Daddy's eye and this cute bundle of fluff was walking in the hallway! SiAna would like to introduce her friends to therapy dog, Cooper. Daddy had to stop him and say hello! He chatted with his person a little and found out Cooper is 17 years old has been a therapy dog for nearly that long and is deaf. He and his person are members of therapy dogs international , a group some of SiAna's friends are members of too! It was so good to meet him and his person. And if course, Daddy showed them photos of SiAna. He does not have social media, so we can not follow him on his adventures.

SiAna has an ear infection update for her friends. 2+ weeks have pass and she had her recheck today with her veterinarian at Tama Veterinary Hospital . Her left ear, which was not too bad before, is cleared up! Her right ear, which was more advanced on the first visit, was much more healed, but still needs a little more time. Her doctor cleaned both ears and added more medicine to the right ear. Thank You so much , Dr. Dickson % Staff! ♥️♥️♥️ SiAna's hearing did come back most the way, but started to reverse again this past weekend. Daddy is still hoping it will return to normal after this treatment. He will be able to tend to SiAna more now that cherry season is over.

SiAna: Little Doggooder

SiAna was born as Aria Diamond Tiara "Sparkle" on December 27, 2013 in Southern California. She moved to Texas for her show career Summer 2014. She retired from showing in the Summer of 2015 due to floating knee caps. SiAna moved to forever home in San Jose, CA on September 8, 2015. Her favorite activities include naps, going for walks, head scratches, belly rubs and outings. She is currently receiving some training at home and will participate in obedience training soon where she hopes to earn her Advanced Good Canine Citizen degree and pass her Therapy Dog test. Then, she will enjoy visiting those in need of a smile and hug to help brighten their day as a little doggooder.
