companies. All transport companies that are registered on our site, have supplied us upon registration, with all authorisations as required for the legal transport of horses throughout Europe. Our USA/Canada and Air transporters do of course operate under different legislation regarding animal transport. A transporter is required to carry their authorisations at all times - so you can ask to see these. We have recently updated our entire website, so our "Available Load Spaces" (where you can often find a very reasonable rate) and our Self-drive section will soon be up and running again. We have transmitted many thousands of requests for National/International/USA/Air transport quotations over the years that we have been running. Find Horse Transport does not act as agent for the companies registered with us. If you have a dispute with any company, it is between you and that company.

We are currently updating our website. After 6 years it was beginning to look a little dated! We have a few sections still to update (self-drive hire, lairage yards and the "load spaces" calendar), however the rest of the site is functioning as normal.

We had a disturbing email on Friday, which showed that someone who was registered on Find Horse Transport, has been re-transmitting the quote requests from another site. We instantly closed our form transmissions to all transport companies. The person who was sending out these requests from another site was exchanging and forwarding information without the legal right to do so. We delete the forms that come to us, after transmission to our transport company register, so that we do not hold any customer’s personal details on file.

This came to light when a customer who sent a request through Find Horse Transport started to receive replies and a copy of the request form from the other site. The form had been transmitted exactly as to Find Horse Transport - even the missing digit on her phone number which she had mis-typed. However the form itself was not from Find Horse Transport, and led her to a site that she had never heard of – and had not sent any request to.

It is also clear that the other website has been charging for transporters to list on the site, and then using quotations from our site to send to these companies. We check each transporters authorisations – so it is also a concern that quote requests coming into the site were being passed to transport companies that we have never even heard of, and may or may not hold the correct authorisations. The only indication on their form that the information came from Find Horse Transport, is the referrer is listed as FHT.

All transport companies that registered on Find Horse Transport made an agreement upon registration, that the information on the quote requests would not be passed to a third party. The forms contain personal details of the person submitting the request.

We have provided a free service to transporters for six years, and personally funded the advertising costs for the site. Regretfully we can now no longer offer this as a free service, and any transport company wishing to remain on our list will have to re-apply and pay the appropriate fee. We are sorry that we have had to take this step, however we no longer intend to fund another website, and cannot risk this happening again.
