Benedict: Loves food and people but food comes first :)

Herb: Quiet and shy lady but very trusting and sweet. Not a fan of other meows at the shelter but maybe that would be different in a home.

Hutton: Can be shy at first but THRIVING in her current foster home with other kitties and doggies to hang with. Builds up her confidence to have others around!

All may need the normal time to acclimate to a new home and family but otherwise are very social. Some are more independent than others but they enjoy being in the company of human servants. Check out their photos for additional information!

Connor is a special black panther seeking a special home. He is social and affectionate, however can get overstimulated in his environment and react in a negative way. Having the proper home vibe is vital to his success as a member of a family. If you’re intrigued, fill out the form online and we will connect with you! Seems to keep the peace with others which is always a bonus 🐈‍⬛.

Makings of Marshmallow

About Marshmallow (Non Profit Animal Rescue & Shelter)

Marshmallow is a non-profit rescue and shelter that was set up in honor of ‘Cocoa’ and her ‘Eleven Marshmallows’, a Labrador mom who had been abandoned and locked in a house for 3 weeks. Rescued by an Iowan Sheriff and obviously pregnant, she was taken to a local veterinarian. After receiving her donated care and through the generosity and compassion of many, Cocoa came to rest in Minnesota at the Livingston-Wiedewitsch home and went on to whelp an astonishing eleven puppies. All were adopted into loving homes, but there are more that need our help. The ultimate goal, of course, is to end this nightmare of unwanted companion animals, which can only be accomplished through heightened public awareness and active promotion of a spay/neuter program. Let us explain that Marshmallow is also part of the Seven-City Animal Impound, which is a public resource for stray, abandoned and rescued companion animals, and serves the cities of Audubon, Callaway, Detroit Lakes, Frazee, Lake Park, Waubun, and Mahnomen. We also cover Becker County if needed. Animals brought to our facility are impounded for five (5) days, by law, then turned over to the Marshmallow Foundation so that basic medical care and physical needs may be met. At this point, they become the Marshmallow Foundation's responsibility for long-term care, feeding, housing and medical treatment, including vaccinations, until they can be adopted. We are a ’low-kill’ facility, so often, animals are with us for several months and sometimes years until homes can be found. Supporting these areas takes a community effort and we rely heavily on people from all of these communities to help as much as they are able!
