Our Harvest Pumpkin Hunt 🎃 field trips, taking place in October, offer hands-on learning ✋📚 experiences with our animals 🐐🐖.

AND (of course) everyone climbs aboard our big old hay wagon 🌾 and off we go through the crunchy fall leaves 🍁… the BEST PART? Each student hunts for a cute kid-sized pumpkin 🎃 to take home!

Meet Makenna—one of our newest staff members and a true Butterfield Acres full-circle moment! 💚

Here’s a little throwback to 2014 when Makenna was one of our bright-eyed campers, snuggling up with her favourite goat, Shirley (who had just welcomed twins!). 🐐✨

Now, in 2025, Makenna’s back—but this time, she’s working at the farm and doing all sorts of fun things.... taking care of the animals and even bringing them out to Community Festivals and Birthday Parties.

On this International Youth Day, we’re celebrating the incredible young people like Makenna who bring energy, kindness, and leadership to our farm family every single day. 🫶

We’re proud to be a place where kids grow up, come back, and step into leadership.

Through our Junior Leader Program and the many youths we employ each season, we’re honoured to support the next generation of change-makers, helpers, and memory-makers. 🌱

That means extra time for farm baby snuggles (we still have lots), tractor rides, pony poses, and goat giggles! 🚜🥰
