I know some of you have already seen the sad news, but on Thursday, my wife came home and she found our amazing little man, Douglas, had crossed the rainbow bridge. He was a part of us and to be without him has been incredibly hard these past few days. He was such an amazing little dude and even with his slowing down and loss of his vision, he never complained or lost his spirit. He was always right there and ready to eat, screaming in excitement, always ready for his next adventure of going around the block or even just to go down to the store and sit in the car with one of us while the other doors the shopping. He was always with us and will remain in our hearts and minds as a wonderful little man. We both keep expecting to see or hear him roaming around, bumping into things or getting stuck behind an open door or in the legs of the chairs. He hasn't been a part of either of our lives for too long, but in the 6 years he's been with us, he has left a mark that cannot be replaced and we will always have his little quirks to laugh about in remembering him.
Rest easy little man, you were the greatest companion, model, and in the past year, teacher. You will be sorely missed and forever loved.
