We have a request to bring in 3 owner surrenders. I don’t know how to say yes anymore. The funds are just not there. I don’t mean to sound like a pity party, but it has been so hard to raise funds for anything.

I have spent days upon days applying for grants, emailing businesses, networking, physically going into places and our mission just does not resonate with people it seems.

The supporters we have on social media have literally carried us this last year, but I know you guys are tired. I know you’re tired of, not just FVR, but all the animals rescues constantly in dire need.

I don’t know what else to do, I don’t know how to help or fix it for us, let alone anyone else.

I have called in favors, asked for loans, applied for everything you could imagine and we are just told no or not responded to.

Yet, and come for me if you want to, these other “rescues” can raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in a month- tens of thousands in a weekend- I have always said if FVR was ever given the opportunity to experience those kinds of numbers- the good we would do.

I see so many rescues closing their doors, honestly…. I get it.

I’ve done a lot of reflecting the last couple of months and I honestly I don’t know how I’ve managed to fight this long. We could use some prayers and some good vibes right now.

Some days, rescue feels like miracles.

Other days, it feels like standing in the middle of a storm, trying to keep everyone fed, healthy, and safe while praying the next need doesn’t come before the last one is covered.

Right now, we need help.

💚 Grain sponsors
🌾 Hay sponsors
🩺 Sponsors for past due veterinary bills
🦷 Dental sponsors for horses who desperately need care

The truth is, rescue is never “done.” The feed tubs empty. Hay disappears. Vet bills arrive. Teeth still need floated. Emergencies don’t wait for bank accounts to recover.

We don’t have a giant organization behind us. We have ordinary people carrying extraordinary burdens because these horses deserve a second chance.

And honestly? We need a miracle.

If Freedom Valley Rescue has ever made you smile, inspired you, or shown you that second chances matter, would you consider becoming part of that miracle?

No gift is too small. A bag of grain, a bale of hay, $10 toward a vet bill, or simply sharing this post all makes a difference.

Because every horse here is alive today because someone cared enough to help.

And today, we’re asking for that help again. ❤️

🐴 Grain Sponsors Needed - we spend roughly $150 weekly on grain
🐴 Hay Sponsors Needed - our hay bill is $250 a month during these warm months
🐴 Dental Sponsors Needed - we have 5 horses needing teeth done at $100 each float
🐴 Past Due Vet Bill Sponsors Needed - we have 3 outstanding vet bills totaling almost $1100 🆘

Donations can be made through:

📍 Cash App: https://cash.app/$FVRhorses

📍 Or message us to sponsor a specific need.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in second chances.

So, as some of you have seen me posting some of our rescue stories and asked me about them….

I’m showcasing some of our “HOME
OFFER RESCUES”

These horses were adopted at a lower fee and allowed to go “home” and the adopters do the rehab.

We are with these guys every step of the way, they never do it alone.

Some people love the bond and the work it takes to rehab, some like the lower fee, whatever the reason is- we still protect these horses with a contract and buy back.

This is one program we offer that has helped lighten our load a little bit but still allows us to continue to help.

Not everyone qualifies for a home offer horse and you also have to be willing to put in the work, listen to guidance, and deal with me more than you would normally 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I have many more stories to share, just watch 🥰

Some horses change lives, but sometimes little boys change horses. ❤️🐴

When Sonic first came home, he was in rough shape. Thin, worn down, and carrying the weight of a hard past, he looked nothing like the horse standing proudly in the show arena today.

What happened in between wasn’t luck.

It was a little boy who fell in love with a big red horse.

It was feed buckets, grooming sessions, treats tucked into little hands, vet appointments, long days, and a family committed to doing whatever Sonic needed to heal.

Horse rehabilitation isn’t fast. There are no shortcuts. It’s a collection of small moments that most people never see. Showing up every day. Trusting the process. Believing in an animal when progress feels slow.

This family did exactly that.

Looking at these two pictures, it’s hard not to get emotional. One shows where Sonic started. The other shows where dedication, patience, and love can take a horse.

The ribbon is nice.

But the real win is seeing Sonic healthy, strong, and carrying the little cowboy who helped change his life.

We’re incredibly proud of this family, and we’re pretty sure Sonic is proud of them too. ❤️

Sometimes the biggest transformations happen because a little boy decides a horse is worth fighting for. 🤠🐴❤️

The Heart Behind the Transformation ❤️🐴

These photos are a powerful reminder that rescue isn’t magic.

The horse in the bottom photo didn’t become the horse in the top photo overnight. This transformation took dedication, patience, consistency, and love.

Today, we want to recognize Logan for the incredible work she put into rehabilitating Teller. 💙

When others see a healthy, happy horse, they often don’t see the countless feedings, grooming sessions, health checks, training days, and moments of simply showing up when no one is watching. They don’t see the commitment it takes to look at a horse in rough shape and believe in what they can become.

Logan did.

She invested her time, her energy, and her heart into giving this horse a second chance. Because of that commitment, this horse was able to heal, regain condition, build confidence, and become the beautiful horse standing proudly today.

Rescue is rarely glamorous. It’s hard work. It’s dirty work. It’s emotional work.

But moments like this remind us why it matters.

Thank you, Logan, for seeing the potential, putting in the work, and proving once again that second chances change lives. 🐴❤️

The difference between these two photos isn’t just time. It’s dedication.

🐴☀️ HELP US STOCK UP ON SUMMER SUPPLIES ☀️🐴

The summer heat is here, and with it comes some of the most expensive months of the year for horse care. Today, we’re asking our amazing village to help us reach our goal of $1,800 for essential summer supplies for the rescue horses. ❤️

This fundraiser will help provide:

🌾 Alfalfa
🌾 Grain
🩺 Supplements
🪰 Fly spray
🪣 Daily care supplies

Summer brings increased nutritional needs, relentless flies, and the ongoing costs of keeping our horses healthy, comfortable, and thriving. Many of the horses in our care are seniors, special needs horses, or are recovering from neglect and require additional support to stay healthy.

At Freedom Valley Rescue, we don’t receive government funding. Everything we do is made possible through the generosity of people who believe every horse deserves a second chance.

Whether you can give $5, $25, or sponsor a larger portion of our summer supply needs, every donation helps ensure these horses continue receiving the care they deserve.

✨ Goal: $1,800
✨ Purpose: Summer grain, alfalfa, supplements, fly spray, and essential horse care supplies

If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this post can help us reach someone who may be able to lend a hand.

Thank you for standing beside us, believing in our mission, and helping us provide a safe, happy future for the horses who call Freedom Valley Rescue home. 🐎❤️

🐴❤️ Let’s have some fun today!

If you could save ONE horse right now, what would you name them?

Drop your answer in the comments! 👇

Bonus points if you tell us why you picked the name. 🐎✨

At Freedom Valley Rescue, every horse that comes through our gates gets a second chance, but sometimes the perfect name is where their new story begins.

We can’t wait to see your ideas! 💕
