Things to do on a rainy day

25/04/2025

Put the puppies outside in their pen yesterday when the sun was out for a short while but they just wanted in the kennel to sleep. There is a warming disc under the bed so I can see the attraction! 4wks old today.

Such utter time wasters. I spend so much time watching them

First taste of new food was a big success. Often it takes a few days to get the hang of it. They must have been more ready than I thought.

Puppies 3wks old yesterday. All doing well putting on weight, all slightly lighter than Rosie's last litter at the same age but there is 7 puppies to feed this time, not 5. Taking expressions of interest for 2 puppies at this stage. Happy Easter everyone

Now its Chevy's turn, Chevy didnt place in his Limit Class, but we are still learning, shall we say, what is acceptable behaviour for standing still and what is the expected pace to walk at in the showring 😛 very pleased to get these photos of him though as its very difficult when you dont get the concept of standing still .........

We have some exciting news, Rosie and Elmo have puppies on the way, due in 4wks time. Rosie's litter last year was so lovely we decided to breed something similar for this year's litter. In 2024 Tiger was the sire, this year the lucky guy is Elmo who is a son of Tiger so genetically the litters will be quite similar. Roll on end of March :-)

Been a little quiet for us on the show front lately. We did do the 4 show weekend at Auckland a couple of weeks back, nothing to report there results wise, BUT it was an awesome weekend away with some lovely people, weather was hot, and it was good training and learning for the new kids now that they had recently moved up into the puppy class. I did some ring craft practice with Berry during the lunch break and got a lovely surprise from Lisa and Leanne when I was sent these of Miss B, I didnt realise they were taking pics :-) They are lovely photos, thanks heaps, and I'm secretly very pleased with how Berry

Entered Miss Berry (Stafflands Raspberry Beret) in the Hamilton Kennel Assn open and champ shows at Huntly yesterday. The weather was very changeable but it was a good day out. In the morning open show judged by Meg Hamilton Berry was awarded Best of Breed and in the afternoon Champ show judged by Sandra Smid she was awarded the Reserve b***h cc. So thrilled with this wee ratbag at 7.5months old :-)
