Update, someone who had an application on file with us came to meet Mya today and took her on an adoption trial to make sure it’s the right fit! We are so so hopeful that this is her one 💜💚
🚨 DESPERATE PLEA FOR MYA 🚨
We don’t use the word desperate lightly, but today it truly applies.
Mya is a 3-year-old Beagle who is in desperate and immediate need of a foster or adopter.
Mya has been with us for months, and with every passing day our hearts break a little more for her.
The best way we can describe Mya is that she seems like a lost soul. It’s as if she’s still searching for someone or something from her previous life. When you watch her, you can almost see it in her eyes. She looks, she waits, she hopes. It’s like she isn’t allowing herself to fully settle because she’s still holding onto the memory of whoever she loved before.
Sadly, Mya’s current foster home has multiple dogs. While Mya is not dog aggressive, and she walks calmly around other dogs in public without reacting, she has shown us that she does not seem to want to live with another dog. She’s liked some dogs and not others, and we simply cannot risk placing her in a home where a disagreement could occur.
Because of this, Mya spends much of her time being crated and rotated. Through no fault of her foster, she just isn’t getting the one-on-one attention she desperately needs to heal, bond, and finally feel like she belongs somewhere again.
We truly believe that if someone would give Mya a chance, she would become fiercely loyal to her person. She just needs someone willing to be patient enough to let her heart catch up.
Mya is:
🐾 3 years old
🐾 House trained
🐾 Quiet in her crate
🐾 Good with kids
🐾 Not a typical vocal Beagle
🐾 Wants to chase cats
🐾 Best as the only pet in the home
Mya can climb fences, so she will need to be leash-walked or supervised on a secure tie-out within a fenced yard.
Today, we’re begging.
We’re begging for someone to foster her.
We’re begging even harder for someone to adopt her.
Please help us show Mya that her story didn’t end when she lost her old life. Help us give her the chance to start a new one.
If you’ve ever considered fostering or adopting, please let Mya be the dog you consider today. She has waited long enough.
